F1 2026 Discussion

Not sure if everyone was going full out but look how much faster Ferrari was on the start.

They may even have the fastest car to start the season, but they will find a way to Ferrari it and come in 3rd or 4th at the end.

Ferrari, as always, look like they'll be interesting to watch. That advantage on the start is potentially nuts. I don't know that their car is necessarily the quickest out there. Historically they always seem to show their pace in testing more than others who hold back a bit.

It seems like the drivers all think overtaking is going to be pretty difficult with these cars. If the Ferrari has good quali pace and the start advantage is legit, that could be huge at least early in the season. Going to be really fun to see how this season and development plays out.

Aston Martin though... woof. Seems like a total disaster going on there right now.

This season will either be good or the worst year in F1 history. The cars seem to be all over the place. Some are fast and the slower ones are so far behind they will not be good for a few years. Not sure why they did this to the cars. I mean it's so extreme.

Listened to a pod today and it sounds like 2014 might have been worse.

I’m actually glad it’s extreme, adds a lot more potential strategy to the mix and things that can go wrong.

Ocon got a great start too, just didn't look like he was shot of a rocket like Lewis. There has been some catfighting about the starts the last two weeks, apparently Ferrari knew the starts would be a problem with the new engines so they made a smaller turbo so they could spin it up faster.

I imagine the end of the year will look much different than the beginning, going to be a ton of design and innovation going on, will be interesting to see who gets things right and wrong.

Someone correct me if im wrong but did Ferrari ‘magically’ find 2 seconds of pace going from a 1:33 yesterday, to a 1:31 today.

Well maybe they were using soft tires with low gas or something. This testing stuff don't mean much as far as the naked eye. Here is the order of best cars so far from ESPN. Aston Martin needs to sell. Every since Stroll bought them it's been all down hill. Kind of excited to see they have Haas ranked 5th. That should be fun if they can put a good year in. Suprised Williams was so down the list after a few weeks ago we heard they had a pretty good car.

Watched the Indy Race yesterday. Poor Mick. Dude wreck on his first lap and it wasn't his fault. Felt for him. Hopefully he has a good season and can find a long term home in Indy car.

I banged it out. I’m of the opinion most of what shows up on Netflix is total crap but man they do a great job with Drive to Survive.

I've only watched the first couple but Lando and Oscar trolling Ferrari during that big live show was hilarious. And Lewis and Max talking about having a kid.
