Things are getting chippy between the McLaren drivers after that opening lap. Piastri didn't seem too happy that they didn't force team orders yesterday. Other than that it was a pretty boring race I thought.
F1, Apple, reportedly hoping to announce deal at USGP
Formula 1 and Apple are hoping to announce their new media rights deal in as soon as two weeks at the U.S. Grand Prix, John Ourand of Puck reported Monday. Progress had stalled due to a dispute over the F1 TV streaming service, which Apple wants to shut down in the United States.
F1 TV, which launched in 2018, offers the ability to stream all F1 races, secondary series, onboard cameras and team radio feeds for as little as $11/mo ($85/year). Its continued existence would keep Apple from having exclusive F1 rights in the U.S., no doubt a point of contention given the nine-figure annual rights fee the streamer is expected to pay.
But F1 is reluctant to shut down the U.S. version of the app, which has been profitable, per Ourand. And it is not clear that F1 TV is eating into the audience watching races on current rights partner ESPN. The app debuted the same year that ESPN began airing F1, and it has not stopped the network from steadily growing its audience.
The dispute has reportedly been the “main holdup” keeping F1 and Apple from announcing their widely expected media rights deal, which was first reported over the summer. That an official announcement seems to be on the horizon would indicate that the conflict has potentially been resolved. But according to Ourand, it is not yet clear which side won out.

Yeah, why not just have your standalone app only and use social media and YouTube to advertise. I am sure I am naive to the benefits of having apple or anyone else involved.Losing F1TV would be a huge deal for me, hopefully they told Apple to **** off.
If I’m Oscar I’m not listening to any team order for **** the rest of the way. McLaren has botched the handling of these situations constantly and, more often than not, in Lando’s favor.
Pulling for Oscar to win the title for sure
I was kinda half watching after the first bit of the race because nothing was happening. Was there something that happened outside of turn 1?
I saw a dude who is still in the hunt for a title make a move that we've seen countless times in other races. It's racing. Nobody had damage outside of Lando. To me it looked like Max hit the brakes earlier than Lando thought and Lando tried to avoid them. Not sure why everyone is so worked up about it.
It was either make the move there or play follow the leader for an hour and a half on a track where nobody can pass. Every single racer out there wants to win more than they want to play nice with their teammate.
It's kind of becoming a problem in racing these days, at least for me. Any aggressive move now is met with constant complaining. Most of these drivers would absolutely lose their minds if they had to race with Senna, Mansell, Prost, Schumacher and countless others from before them. This, "I'm ahead, he can't do that to me." attitude is becoming tiresome.I was kinda half watching after the first bit of the race because nothing was happening. Now official:
