ESPN Article

Your point?

It's not an "article". There's no quota for journalistic integrity on a blog, it's supposed to be the authors feelings on a given topic for you to agree or disagree with. To learn from or ignore. It's all up to you how you take it really.

Hey look, an ISU fan blaming refs for a loss. That's new...

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Exactly. This team is a top 25 team, but not an elite team. No big deal. We can still make a great run in the NCAA Tournament if we get the right match-ups or get hot. Final Four, though extremely unlikely, is possible. Enjoy the run with this team and enjoy the last month of basketball watching Melvin Ejim and DeAndre Kane run the floor as Cyclones!
Agreed. There is a team in the Final Four virtually every year that didn't end February being considered "elite". I think ISu has an excellent shot at doing well in the tourney. But back to that article. I also agree that Texas has an excellent shot at beating ISU this Saturday. I just don't think it's a good match up for ISU at all. We'll see if ISU can hit enough threes to offset the interior advantage that Texas appears to have. In this year's Big 12, no result would truly surprise me.

So, just curious, is this the type of article you show your team to give them a 'chip on their shoulder', or just the opposite as to not plant negative vibes in their heads? Secondly, I know some don't agree on the degree of influence on the amount of depth, some even think it's overrated. But isn't it possible that all the minutes these guy have to log is taking it's toll? Not that we really have alot of options.
I don't think coaches waste their time showing any articles to teams. They have enough to do just getting ready for the game. I doubt very highly if Hoiberg cares what some random blogger for ESPN thinks of ISU's declining stats over the last handful of games. the team has already seen the stats and broken them down, I would assume.

I'm not sure why people think the win to Texas Tech was such a bad thing. It could have been cleaner, yes, but that Texas Tech team has beaten OSU, OU, and Baylor. They beat OU in Norman, which we couldn't do. It's a Big 12 win, and we should all be happy with it.

Someone from Kansas who can't read. That fits the stereotype exactly. There's a best selling book about how dumb your state is.
You don't take "Part of that is on our team to play through horrendous calls on the road, but the result of that call would have been radically different in Hilton and ISU likely would have led the entire game." as blaming the refs for a loss? I would think that shooting 39% for the game and going 5:20 in the second half without scoring a single point had more of a negative effect than one bad call by a ref...

Call it whatever you want, it's crap. Should a blog, especially one hosted by a major news outlet such as ESPN, have lower standards for the quality of its content? Maybe we'll disagree on the answer, but I don't believe that labeling content as a "blog" gives the author license to publish junk without expecting criticism of its quality.

winning 4 of 5 is slumping?

Yeah you're right, but you can't honestly say that we've been playing anywhere close to our best ball the last 3 games. I think that is all the article is trying to say, and I agree. I think we'll be just fine, starting tomorrow.

I didn't see much to argue with in that article. The #11/#17 team in the country should be playing better. And we can. Hoping it starts tomorrow.

Can someone explain to me again why KU trolls are permitted but trolls who are likely our own fans are commonly ban hammered?

This joke has been trolling for the entire basketball season. Ban him for derailing threads if nothing else.

I think allowing a Texas Tech team that probably isn't good enough to make even the NIT to make a 29-10 run to take the lead after ISU was up 18 in the 2nd half while playing at home is a bit alarming, especially after the drubbing that West Virginia put on ISU the other day. It doesn't mean that ISU is in trouble by any means, but it should be a bit concerning heading into a very important game against Texas.

Feel free to comment on the topic at any point...

I like your view here.

So....bandwagon fan then. Got it.
Funny. My parents attended Kansas, my grandparents, etc... and you realize that about 30 minutes from KU campus is another state, correct? Do Iowa State fans only live in Iowa? Are those that move to other parts of the nation now "bandwagon" fans? Good grief...

Wouldn't every team in America like it if you could just "take out" their worst performance the year? If that game happened uin November then it could be ignored but it JUST HAPPENED.

It is actually quite common when doing statistical analysis to eliminate extreme outliers on order to get a clearer picture.
I wouldn't expect you to understand that though.

I think there is absolutely 0% chance that Texas beats ISU on Saturday...

Now, tomorrow night, they have a chance.
