Equipment Sale

Here is the response I got from the Cyclone Club. Hope it helps for anybody else wondering.

Good morning, all donors will be sent something via email this week, or you can always show your 2016 Cyclone Club electronic receipt. You do qualify as a current 2016 donor.

Thanks! Go Cyclones!

Thanks for posting this!

Ah man, this is one time living out of Iowa is inconvenient! If someone can get me a matte helmet, I would be truly grateful and am willing to kick in extra for your trouble! Happy to Paypal anyone willing. Thanks!

Putting out the plea again. Any CC members willing to try and get me a matte helmet (I have an authentic glossy one so only want matte). I'm willing to kick in some extra $ for the effort. Please PM me if you are willing.

Thanks!!

Time for obligatory - I miss the old days when the sale wasn't such a big deal and you could actually find awesome stuff - post.

Have they had an Equipment Sale since 2009? I think that year they were getting rid of pretty much everything "old Cy". Wouldn't be surprised if everything at this sale was from the "new logo era".

They seem to happen every couple of years. I know there was one not last year but maybe 2013 or 2014. My husband bought quite a few things that fit my oldest daughter. Of you can't wear a small or a xxxl, there isn't a whole lot in-between. But things he bought had the new I State logo on them (softball shirt, softball jacket, Nike shorts)

I just saw this on Twitter.

As far as I know this equipment is not for sure game used. Its just surplus... Is that correct?

I remember the old days going into the State Gym when I was little and just picking this stuff out with nobody else there. How times have changed.

what - of course i'm Mr. Sukup. you don't recognize me?

Just point to the South End Zone and make a run for it when they look.

And if they actually do decide for some insane reason to check ID's this year... my bad man and I learned a valuable lesson that I will probably forget before the next time I do this same exact thing.

Someone talk me into or out of spending $250 on a helmet. I keep going back and forth on this...

Jerseys and pants/shorts being game-used may be hit or miss. I know football typically orders exactly the jerseys they need, with a couple extras of each size and a backup or two for a handful of starters. Pants are ordered in bulk. The matte helmets may be surplus, but if we're getting rid of them (totally a random speculation), they could be game used. Helmets are only certified and re-certified by the conditioning factory for I believe 5 years (they all get sent out each year after spring ball to be tested). So any helmets that have been in use for five seasons and not bought by the players (who I think still get first dibs), will likely be in the sale.

The rest of the clothing, gloves, etc. is definitely surplus. But $60 - $100 Nike tees and hoodies for what, $10 - 15? I'd take that if I was closer.
