Quite the marriage proposal.

I have a hard time even looking at that.

When I was a lad we went up 50’ on extension ladders to paint our barns. I’ll call that “good enuf”. (Wasp nests were up there too.)
Wooden extension ladders that had a lot of bounce? We had them and my dad tried to get me up one once. I said no thank you and walked away.

Some people’s brains just work totally different than others. I was in the Marines with a guy who had no fear. Like he just acted without any thought to his own safety. It was bizarre. He is a great guy and still my friend. These people plan out the climb. I have trouble watching stuff like this since I fear heights for others. I don’t really fear heights myself but for some reason I struggle watching guys like Honold climb stuff

He addresses fear too. He was talking about before he did El Capitan free solo he was terrified of it. But these guys are nuts and study the routes and do them repeatedly before trying it without ropes. Always that risk of course.
Yeah, but didn't they also show in the documentary his brain doesn't really have much of a fear response?
