Drake marketing dept. strikes again

Drake martketing issue. They need to have the English department proof read their stuff. If they pull out the word "top" it would come across how the other poster mentions. That one little word blows the whole thing up.
Yeah, I agree. I wasn't sure if the other poster was saying they thought we were getting it wrong or Drake had gotten it wrong

Having worked this space (editing, fact-checking, approving advertising pieces), I can easily see how this occurred.

There is usually someone with marketing/communications skills charged with developing promotional materials. Their skill set is writing/creating, not necessarily content/technical expertise. You have others that review for accurate content.

In a highly regulated industry, you’d have compliance and/or legal people review something like this before it is finalized.

Higher Ed is not highly regulated so I’m sure Drake is expecting their marketing people to also serve as their own technical resource too. Not really an excuse though to make this error. Someone in charge needs to have some process in place to ensure this type of thing doesn’t occur.

Hummm…any chance the D+ person or persons is/are still there and had a hand in this mess too? If so, would have to think that job security would be in question about now.

They had a score of 97, not percentile rank. Reading is hard.

The "scores" presented alongside the metrics in this profile are centile ranks. They range from 1 to 100, with 100 indicating the highest centile, or top 1 percent of all 2- or 4-year colleges.
Maths are hard werk. Engish are harder werk. PROOF READ, Drake!!!
