Graham has nothing to do with Greene. They have totally different roles on the team (and my guess is that Self is reminding him of what his role is after he has spent the first two games taking too many bad shots). Graham's role is to be a 2nd point guard out there to handle the ball so Mason can try to be a little more of a scorer. Greene's job is to hit as many threes as he can squeeze in in the minutes he's given.
There were 3 players in all of college basketball to shoot 50% or better last year and they came from Eastern Illinois, Oakland and Southern Utah. Has anyone ever shot 50% or better in KU history from 3? It's a pretty stupid prediction IMO
He won't shoot 50%, but that doesn't mean he isn't an elite shooter...and you don't have the monopoly on that classification. As I said, by your definitions, Curry and Redick were not elite shooters.
And quoting 3s made to compare doesn't work unless you are doing per minute. Greene, like Matt Thomas last year, was yanked if he missed his first few shots and usually didn't get many more minutes in games

And you are talking out of both sides of your mouth, as based on the stat thresholds you have been throwing out there mean Curry and Redick aren't....which shows your argument is totally flawed
Greene made 40 3's last season and shot 40% from 3.
Curry and Reddick, who were the focus of every defense they went against, shot 42% and 39% from 3 and combined for 269 3's their senior season.
Tryus McGee shot 46% from 3 his senior year and made 96 3's. That is elite. It has nothing to do with Greene, I think he's a good shooter and a nice player but he needs to do way more than he's done to fit in the category of the select few in college basketball
Your opinion of my prediction has also been noted, ad nauseum. And yes, Kirk Hinrich is the current KU record holder at 50.5% his sophomore season.
I am pretty confident that Bragg will be an excellent option by the time conference season gets here. He is already a better scorer than Lucas and Mickelson; he's just young and blows a lot of defensive assignments or makes silly fouls due to his inexperience. Self is a coach who is pretty stubborn about making young players earn their playing time by learning their assignments and isn't one to just throw them out there without that if he has a functional option to put ahead of them (argument over Lucas' functionality is for another time). Does it cost him some losses, especially early in the season? Yeah, I think so. At the micro-level it bothers me but at the macro-level I am OK with him backing up the "these elite recruits have to understand that nothing is given to them, they have to earn it" talk by actually making them earn their time on the court. And honestly, I think that also costs Self some of these elite recruits over time but so it goes. He is what he is.
So sum up my last post, yes I think that by the time Big 12 play starts that Bragg (or Diallo if he is eligible) will be starting next to Ellis or at least getting 20-25 minutes a game. And it's not like Bragg is some banger; he's pretty long and lean. But he's good at chasing rebounds and will be a better scoring option than brick hands Lucas, who cannot seem to make a bunny to save his life.
Kansas is rarely a team made up of one stud player surrounded by a supporting cast under Bill Self. In the 12 years that he has been at Kansas, there have only been three seasons where a KU player was Big 12 POY. We're usually a team made up of good players all of whom are probably a match issue for someone in the conference but rarely do we have that one stud guy who no one is able to beat like Durant, Beasley and Griffin were.
That's a reflection of their coaching more than their talent. Their current roster has talent, but no alpha.
I agree, no alpha dog. Since Self has been there, they almost always have one lottery pick on their roster. One guys whose talent is unique. This year they don't have that. Their potential lottery pick has not been cleared to play.
KU is hoping they will be notified tomorrow if Diallo is at least cleared to travel with the team to Maui for the Maui Invitational next Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. Otherwise, he will be back in Lawrence while the rest of the team spends Thanksgiving in Hawaii and his unofficial suspension will be stretched to five games. This whole thing is ridiculous.
One of the analysts wrote a good column on this situation. The NCAA is not allowed to speak about the case or what they are investigating, so who knows how ridiculous it is. Since Yakme has not been cleared, there must be more to the story than transcripts and the "handler"/guardian seems to be at the center of it. It's funny hearing the guys on TV scream Free Diallo, and mention the 6th grade transcripts request only. They never mention the amateur status due to the handler possible issues which seems to be the bigger piece.
and as much as Kansas is ****** about it, all the schools want the NCAA investigating these things to keep the other schools from cheating to get a leg up.

If he was an elite shooter it'd probably be a big deal. Luckily for KU he's not and his production can be replaced pretty easily
