Dish Network adds Longhorn Network

If a la carte is as easy as people think it is, why hasn't it happened yet?

Want Fox and CBS to watch the NFL? That'll be $10 each please.
Want ESPN? $15 please.
Want Fox Sports? That'll be $10 please.
Want NBC? That'll be another $10 please.

Oh, that movie you wanted to watch on Spike? $5 will take care of that.

Baseball game on TBS? $5 no problem.

College game on ESPN2? For $5 it can be yours.

It would be an absolutely disaster.

Thank you. Good insight.
I think the people we should be going after is cell phone providers.

Part of the deal involves Dish disabling autohop on ABC programming until 3 days after it's original air date.

A La Carte is not going to happen. Right now the cable provider is basically paying for a few networks and the rest get thrown in, for free or nothing. Heck the provider may even be getting a break if they take the whole package.

Yep, and there would be a lot of channels people like to have "available" that would not make it. Bundling will always be done, either by the broker cable/satellite companies or by the channels themselves.
