We don’t need help in the secondary. We just need one or two that are already there to get in sync with the others,
When you watch the secondary on pass plays, there are always two or three that are always yds away from the where the receivers end up, and out of the play. I get that zone coverage means just that, but imo it would be beneficial to have one of these guys rushing the qb and disrupting the play.
I was tired, and misread your post. It sounded like you were saying we needed better players in the secondary, not that we need help from the secondary.
I think that Azunna is in the process of being “replaced”. He’s a redshirt senior, and redshirt freshman Isheem Young (and the other pile of freshen), whom iirc he’s splitting time with, is still learning the ropes.
I didn't want to say his name, but he's horrible. Not sure why the coaches even put him on the field. He gets burnt EVERY time. Never seen him make a play on D,
Seems like not too long ago we were praising Azunna as the next great d-back at ISU

His HS tape was impressive so we all had high hopes. He actually played pretty good last year. Not sure what his deal is this year. Don't worry, the more comfortable Isheem gets on the field, the less we will see of Azunna. I have a feeling he is gonna get torched a couple times against OU and that will be the end of his playing time.
With Tampa playing snaps at CB, maybe it’s time to try Datrone Young at Safety. He’s got plenty of experience.
I’d like to know who thought that? He’s been at best a special teams/role player since he was a RSFr.
