Dawson gone?

Looks like it. 1 for 4 now with Bobek, Catalina, Rodgers, and Dawson. For some reason the grad transfer doesn't work for us in football.

So I guess the rumors were true. I would like to hear more about the workouts being too tough, it seems like MI would be pushing guys pretty hard.

Campbell and his S&C staff must be absolutely brutal. Hopefully it shows up in the kind of young men we attract, build, and the product we put on the field's athleticism, endurance, and resistance to any major injury problems.

Probably the belief he could walk into a spot at Iowa State with little effort and likely a good indicator of why Michigan wasn't broken up to lose him

Is the workout thing really true? I mean, he's coming from Michigan, did he expect to skate through or something? I can't imagine our workouts are that much more grueling than theirs.

Much more plausible than the idea that the workouts here are that much more difficult than a Harbaugh run program at Michigan.

Does he count as one of the 85 scholarship players, or is it early enough that you can give it to a deserving player?

There had been rumblings of this for a little while. It's been said that he left after a day for family reasons, but then yes some had said it was the workouts. Who knows.

It had also been said for many months that nobody on the staff thought he was a sure fire starter.

Expectation of him may of been different between ISU and Michigan. He was not a projected starter at Michigan and didn't play much in three years. At ISU, the expectation was that we brought him in as a 5th year guy to maybe start and for sure compete for playing time. Maybe it just wasn't in him to put in the work to be a Power 5 starter. Just because you are talented, it doesn't mean you are driven.
