First fired from ISU and now this. He's got to be feeling cursed. Maybe smited even.

Doubt it. UNT had its best season in years, and that was with the tiniest defensive line I think I've ever seen play in division I. It might have just been me, but against Indiana, they looked like children.

Very, very fast children. [Relative to Indiana, that is]

But still, smaller than UNI's defensive line.

Again, I'm just going off eyeball here - I may very well be factually wrong. Their guards and tackles looked like small ends. Their ends looked like linebackers. Their linebackers looked like m&ms.

Still, they played well enough to win 5 games. That's a lot, compared to what they've been for several years.

I was diagnosed with the same thing....so I could get my windows tinted in high school.

can you imagine back when Mac was the head coach and CPR was an assistant not trying in a football game. You would be deamed unmotivational.

I had forgotten about McCarney coaching at UNT this season. Looks like the first season wasn't too bad, 5-7 (4-4). I hope he can continue to have success. I hope this medical condition doesn't affect him too much.

I believe Ringo Starr has a similar condition where he has to wear sunglasses all the time.

This condition had nothing to do with being "tired of waking up on the floor"?

I had a detached retina last year, and fortunately it was reattached with one surgery, although I can only see light and dark in about 1/3 of the visual field of that eye. Going through multiple surgeries only to have none of them work and become blind in that eye would be horrible.

.

Munchkin Linebacker Smaller At Combine Than Listed College Height

When Michael Crabtree showed up at the Combine to get measured, he checked in at 2 full inches under his listed 6' 3" at Texas Tech. Scouts were somewhat stunned at such a gross mismeasurement. But the most amazing shocker of the Combine came when linebacker Beezleknees Gum Gum measured over 3 feet smaller than his listed 6' 5" at Emerald City College, completely scrambling everyone's draft boards.

pun?

I have noticed that Dan McCarney is frequently pictured with sunglasses on, something I never remembered seeing him wear. I thought it might be a Florida or Texas thing, or maybe some subtle homage to Hayden Fry, but apparently, it is due to blindness and extreme light sensitivity in one of his eyes.

Wow. Didn't know that. Must be a pain for him. Hope he doesn't lose any more vision. Great guy who doesn't deserve more hardship.
