D Sims at the Combie

If they want to talk crap about how our 205 pound safety can out bench their 250 pound tight end, then yeah thats fine...

Not to stick up for Reisner, but Reisner is taller which means his arms are longer, which means he is pushing the weight farther. That does not mean that he is stronger. Shorter guys can bench a certain weight more because they don't have to push the weight as far as say a 6'5 guy.

In addition to having to push the weight farther, those of us with long arms can also run into the situation where our shoulder is bent so much at the bottom of the bench press that our pecs can't effectively move the weight. I don't know if this would affect Reisner, but when I lifted in HS I used the "wide grip" marks on the bar in order to have the same form as other guys (my wingspan is almost 6" longer than my height).

Well if you're going to get technical they also have longer single muscle fiber length which is the single most correlated factor when discussing contraction velocity and a larger predisposition to greater muscle cross sectional area which is most linked to contraction force, so...

I understand that Mass x Distance = Force but come on dude it's the NFL combine if you don't want to get punked out by someone smaller than you then either man up and do more reps or sit down. I'm pretty sure there isn't a check box underneath the number of reps on the checklist for "I had the sniffles" or "my tummy hurts".

No excuses, play like a Champion

Reisner's arm length is 33 inches
Sims is 31 inches.

Not a huge difference. Reisner is only 6'2 as well. Not 6'5

He was too busy doing high reps of low weight so his muscles would pop like Rick Stanzi likes em. You heard it here first.

They really kinda let DSims have it the little bio write up they have on there...I'm pretty sure he is faster than what they are saying on there, but the 40 will let us know

Actually, both Clayborn and Ballard are taller than Reisner. Seems to me that Ballard probably helped his status a little in the combine while Reisner probably hurt it as he was one of the poorer testing TEs. IMO Reisner and Hunter got an invite on iowa's reputation more than anything.

Hopefully Sims does well tomorrow. He's supposedly a testing freak, so we'll see how he runs and jumps.

looks like david is top 3 for bench... if he tests as well as people say he does. He should be just fine. Hopefully we all will see him playing on Sundays. Man is a Freak

You know what will help Sims a lot? Durability. He played a lot and tackled a lot and was never hurt. Don't think that isn't huge to scouts. That said, I am guessing 5th to 7th round. His coverage lacks.

Mass X Acceleration = Force
Force X Distance = Work

... just sayin:rolleyes:

He will be a steal in those rounds. Deion Sanders would have had trouble covering guys with the amount of pressure we put on opposing quarterbacks last season.

It's not the coverage per se with Sims, it is he bites on the double move. In the NFL, they will carve you up with these.

Sims tested this so far

4.50 forty. That makes him 3rd overall for safeties.
37.5 vertical. That is number 1 for safeties.

That is all he has listed besides what we already know on this site.
