They’re quite different now.I think I've been to the new location once. Just don't usually go up that way.Liked them when they were in West Ames.

This is the sort of thing I imagine will be in CyTown. Some sort of Buzzard Billys gameday event kind of space.Something like this at the south end of CyTown, but name it something with Cyclone lore.
(This is Blatt in Omaha, across the street from the Mens CWS stadium)

(The only complaint in Omaha is that they wanted it to originally be three levels with an indoor event space on Floor 2, and then the rooftop on Floor 3 looking into the ballpark)
I don't think it'd be smart to have them run a whole restaurant event space but maybe they can partner with whoever goes there and have all their beers on tap, especially Ames lager. They really deserve an offer. They stepped up when a lot of others didn't when NIL rolled in. Have you ever had their pizza? I haven't, but I know they sell it at the brewery.
Plus it would be super cool to have them sell Ames Lager merch.I don't think it'd be smart to have them run a whole restaurant event space but maybe they can partner with whoever goes there and have all their beers on tap, especially Ames lager.
Or it'd be cool if they had a smaller space elsewhere in CyTown for a tap room to allow for other options besides the restaurant.
I think the permanent food tenants would probably have an issue with that. Not saying it wouldn't be awesome for events but they events are where they make the big $$$$They should have a food truck space like the one in Austin. Maybe too pedestrian, but tons of good food choices!
The Wallaby's owner hates the idea of CyTown to his core.Maybe Wallaby's can move down from up north.
They'll have an issue with it, sure, but they're also not going to be able to seat everyone who wants to eat in their establishment on a gameday either. The best entertainment districts have a lot of food/drink carts on the big gamedays.I think the permanent food tenants would probably have an issue with that. Not saying it wouldn't be awesome for events but they events are where they make the big $$$$
If i were a f&b operator in Ames I’d probably share similar opinionThe Wallaby's owner hates the idea of CyTown to his core.
I think 30hop or a similar concept would be solid
They’re quite different now.
To each their own. Loved the old Wallaby's. Great Sports Bar food, great atmosphere. The new one tried twice, to upscale, food worse hate the atmosphere. And much better.
IMO the only advantage the new Wallaby's has over the OG is the rooftop. I am an absolute sucker for rooftop bars, though. To each their own. Loved the old Wallaby's. Great Sports Bar food, great atmosphere. The new one tried twice, to upscale, food worse hate the atmosphere.
They and El Azteca are packed most nights. Not many places to eat in north Ames.I think they own their building and they have no reason to risk moving to an unproven area when they are in a prime spot in what is still the fastest growing section of Ames. With all due respect that would be a terrible business decision.
Ames has a food truck park that isn’t used due to its poor location. It’s a real shame too because if it were in a more walkable area like downtown I think it would be a hit. I don’t see a new one popping up any time soon just because of the perception of the current one. They should have a food truck space like the one in Austin. Maybe too pedestrian, but tons of good food choices!
Not calling you out in particular but I always find it funny when people say stuff like this about Ames as if it doesn't only take 10 minutes to travel the entirety of Ames. They and El Azteca are packed most nights. Not many places to eat in north Ames.
Where they put that is beyond comical.Ames has a food truck park that isn’t used due to its poor location. 100%, yes.Not calling you out in particular but I always find it funny when people say stuff like this about Ames as if it doesn't only take 10 minutes to travel the entirety of Ames.
Do people on the north side of Ames really not go down to Duff because it takes too long to get there?
