The bulldozer is on a different pile of dirt.I'm sad Murph and Andy are ending only because Pollards monthly appearances usually came with a CyTown update.
I would like news.

Maybe he can go on the CW and Blum pod to give the updates now. they are looking for content this summer anyway.I'm sad Murph and Andy are ending only because Pollards monthly appearances usually came with a CyTown update.

Last time I was there they had several rows roped off where the roof was leaking. Do they still have that going on?Im currently on campus … maybe I will stop by to see if they made any updates from Saturday.
I thought they approved a bid to replace the carpet so I was surprised it hadnt been replaced yet.
I didnt see any rows roped off this weekend.Last time I was there they had several rows roped off where the roof was leaking. Do they still have that going on?
Seriously. The Tennessee development is not even in the same category as CyTown. Or maybe the really bad report is what makes it seem extra lame.
UT Athletics plans new 'entertainment district' with Neyland Stadium and planned hotel at its center
The planned hotel is adjacent to Neyland Stadium's south end and the district would span the Tennessee River waterfront.www.wbir.com
Looks cool to me
Yes,but it still won’t top honeymoon hotel rooms facing home plate at Skydome and couples not using curtains.Rooftop hot tubs would put it over the top.
Pollard's CyTown comments from 9/24 Coaches Corner show, to separate from getting buried in the stadium thread:
*Below-ground work is done
*More info coming latter part of October
*Some final approvals needed from BOR (November meeting)
*Planning to build all at once
*Hopefully done within 2 years
*$300M investment, 575k sq ft across 8 buildings, amphitheater, 200+ room hotel
*McFarland breaking ground this fall
2022 estimated cost was $200m so demand/interest must be high. I heard the hotel was going to be 125-150 ish rooms, now they want 210-225. For reference, The Gateway hotel in Ames is 187 rooms.Pollard's CyTown comments from 9/24 Coaches Corner show, to separate from getting buried in the stadium thread:

Wasnt the 200m price initially for just the cytown portion, not including the hotel etc? So the 300M number with the hotel etc.2022 estimated cost was $200m so demand/interest must be high. Also another reference is Albaugh's District in Prairie Trail is approx. 500k Sq ft in total... West Glen in West Des Moines is just over 400k sq ft.. Crazy that Cytown will have more space than both of those!!
Agree. I love the upper level for viewing the crowd and the stage!Wonder if CyTown will do any second level entertainment like Tennessee has planned, or keep it all ground level for safety reasons. The second level in the KC Power & Light adds a welcome variety to the atmosphere. Makes for some great viewing of the stage acts.
If that's completed by 2030 I'll be shocked.Meanwhile, over at the Linc (that empty area downtown along Lincoln Way), their newest plans call for...
*cutting 13k sqft (25%) of retail/restaurant space
*cutting 85k sqft (100%) of office space
*cutting 14 (10%) hotel rooms
*cutting 800 sqft (12%) of hotel restaurant space
*cutting 15.5 sqft (100%) of conference center space
*cutting one entire parking garage
*changing from 2 phases of construction to 3
*adding 112 (43%) housing units
*completion date moved back from 2025 to 2029
