I believe this game is streaming on hbo max too…at some point they are gonna force a pay sports add on though.
Just watched the Cavs beat the Clippers. The Cavs announcers are huge Georges Niang fans. HC Bickerstaff seems to really trust him in big spots and Niang was influential yet again. Thought this team would be like .500 at best and CLE is sitting at 5th in the East, just ahead of Tyrese's Pacers.
I see that the Cavs had to come back from a halftime deficit to beat Clippers. Since JAN 3, Cleveland has won 10 of 11 and sits at 4th in the Eastern standings. And most of that was accomplished while Mobley and Garland have been out with injuries. Georges had 10 last night; here are his minutes and shooting stats:

I think that can trigger in any of the years, so I don't think he would miss out on all of it.

Glad he's playing again. Looks like they definitely limited his minutes. Got over the 20 minute threshold at least... I hope he can meet the new game quota for All NBA this year. He can only miss like 5 more games and still qualify.

The league is asking you to play 79% of games to qualify for end-of-year awards. Not even 80%. The league had to do this because players were completely taking advantage and playing the minimum amount of regular-season games they possibly could. It was really hurting the product. Sorry, if you can’t play in 80% of games then you’re not All-NBA

Yeah, I don't necessarily disagree with the rule and I understand wanting to protect the product, but I can definitely see it from his perspective with the injury though. I imagine he'll have a few more 20-22 minute games played while working back from the hammy issue.
I completely get his perspective. He has a legit injury. And if there was some rule keeping me from $50M I’d be complaining too! (I whine about my taxes like everyone does. Which costs me a hell of a lot less money).
But he should be complaining about the players that abused the system before him. Not the rule. Also, in every sport, injuries cause players to miss out on awards/big pay days all the time. That’s just how sports work.
I missed out on a $41M bonus because of bogus rules, too. My company has a rule against paying $41M bonuses.
