Cyclones back in AP Poll after win over OU

After a few weeks outside of the polls, the Cyclones are back.



Iowa State jumped back into the AP Top-25 on Sunday at No. 24 following the program’s 37-30 win over Oklahoma, which marked the first home win over the Sooners since 1960. Notably, the Sooners dropped out of the poll for the first time since late Sept. 2016 after OU’s first back-to-back conference losses since 1998.



Iowa State started the season at No. 23 in the preseason AP Poll, but dropped out following the team’s season-opening loss to Louisiana. The Ragin’ Cajuns currently sit at No. 23 in the ranking.



This is the Cyclones’ 53rd week in the AP Poll in program history — and the 13th time since 2017.



Only two other Big 12 teams are currently in the poll with Oklahoma...

We are getting love now... and are well positioned in the Big 12. The win over TCU was bigger now and this weekends win was awesome. We are in the weekend recap and I thought it was a good mention on us. Season is still in front of us, and the loss to Louisiana needs to be way in the rear view....

1998. OU opened Big 12 0-4 that season.
