As far as late hits go, that's nothing. I always thought this should have been whistled on the first play from scrimmage against Nebraska. He drags him another 10 yards and throws him to the ground all after the whistle clearly blows repeatedly.

This may or may not just be an excuse to post this video which I do at every available opportunity...

Great road uniform combination. Love the gold stripes on the pants.

Good lord, Campbell had like 2 disappointing seasons, and 1 of those would be considered "good" in a historical context. WTF is up with the attitude in this thread?
Maybe our standards are raised? If we keep comparing are selfs to older teams then we’re never gonna get out of the basement

So I guess winning the Fiesta isn't good enough. Campbell had a dip in program success so we are going to turn into a bunch of whiny pessimists. It's got to be a straight upward trajectory of success until we're on Bamas level and nothing else.

Been around long enough to know there’s no predicting it. Just sit back, roll an J with Jacob Park and enjoy the ride, baby.

Needed to watch that this morning, it did cheer me up. But 8 turnovers and only 9 points, really
That was the best defense in the nation playing on their home field. The 9 points was just about right at their average (10.4) for points given up. In 7 of their 14 games they gave up single digit points. They gave up a total of 14 TDs in 14 games. Their D-line was anchored by Suh and Crick. They ended the season 10-4 including a 33-0 shellacking of Arizona in the Holiday Bowl.

For ISU starting QB and RB were out with injuries and there was a flu bug going through the team. There were guys throwing up on the sideline and lockerroom - not just bench guys but guys that were playing through it.

Yeah that’s kinda what progression is. You maybe fine with mediocre 7 win seasons though

Would have been nice to pile up some more points, yes, as many times as they curb-shanked us. But a win is a win, in Lincoln.

Nobody expects Bama success at ISU. But it would be nice if we didn't have a few games every year where we look like we didn't prepare at all. Personally, I wish the coaching staff would stop being so conservative and just put the hammer down. They do it at times and it usually works. And it's exciting to watch.

I agree it would be nice to see more aggressive play calling, both sides of the ball. We have to win in the margins, but we also have to take a chance here and there. We have great talent in general, but so do almost all of our opponents.

And it is so frustrating as a Cyclone, and I know it sounds like whining, and as others have pointed out, we almost never get any breaks from bad officiating. It is just uncanny. Refs are human, they will make mistakes. But they are random and should balance out. So where is that list of calls that went in our favor but were clearly wrong? I mean, I would gladly admit it if an error went in our favor. I recall that shot that went in after the buzzer and we beat Creighton, before there was replay. Jamie Vander Bekin or something like that. So what, 25 years ago? There's one. It really is hard to fathom. I guess we just have to believe we must be due!!!!
