Sorry, there's just WAY too much wrong with that map to take it seriously.
Bucks more popular than the Packers in Wisconsin?
Astros more popular than the Cowboys?
Ohio State most popular in Michigan?
White Sox in Illinois? I'd say the Cubs, Bulls, and Bears are all more popular.
Supersonics more popular than Seahawks when the Supersonics haven't even been a team forever.
And I highly doubt the Chargers are more popular than the Raiders and Lakers in Cali
But, I support anything that chafes the butts of our friends neighbors out east
I would have to imagine SDSU and NDSU are more popular than USD and UND in the Dakota's as well.
So Ohio State is the most popular team in Michigan, but not in Ohio? In Ohio it's the Browns? Really?
I wouldn't take this too serious. Anyone can make these.
Maybe, but I love seeing the state of Iowa in Cardinal and Gold!!!
When I lived in Chicago it became very clear, very fast that White Sox fans were way more diehard about their team than Cubs fans were. Living on the north side of the city you were around a lot of transplanted young professionals. Sure they'd wear Cubs gear and say they were a fan, but they were a fan of Wrigley Field as much if not more than the team itself. Way more diehard Cubbie fans living outside of Illinois than White Sox though.
I saw someone on Twitter say these maps are intentionally inaccurate to generate discussion.
Sad to see another science denier
Statistics provided by the fine people at SHARTS. Nice!
Picky, picky. I didn't look at anything but Iowa.
Mississippi is a fan of Tennessee lol
Yeah this map was created by a troll
There is also the possibility that this is very OLD data. The Seattle Supersonics became the OKC Thunder in 2008.
Only issue with that is Oklahoma has the Thunder.
I thought they were Oklahoma City Thunder?
I think the map was meant as a joke or just to bother certain fanbases. That said for Iowa this could be accurate.
Hoks did already forfeit the football game this year...
