It's been great that this has become a fun competitive dual again, but it's about time we break through. Still think it'll be an uphill battle, and think we need a surprise win and avoid getting upset. 33 or 65 maybe? Euton and frost looking like machines so far.
We’ve got the team to do it, will need to be at our best. Here’s the way I see it.
125 - toss up - I like Stevo against Dean off of the scale, wonder if they use DeLuca if he looks good today.
133 - Iowa favored - should be Evans first match of the year down to 33, makes me nervous.
141 - ISU slightly favored - Ech should handle Bailey on their feet, can’t let it get to the mat where Bailey is best.
149 - ISU favored - regardless of Paniro or Frost, we should win this. Iowa guy will be stingy either way. Will learn about this weight for them this weekend.
157 - toss up - actually think Williams has the higher ceiling but Vinny can win this match.
165 - Iowa favored - love what I’ve seen from Euton but Caliendo has proven he’s top 3 at this weight.
174 - Iowa favored - bad style match up for us, though MJ looks bigger and stronger this year.
184 - Iowa favored - actually think Angelo wrestles a similar style to Dean, he’s just a notch above. Title contender, very stingy and strong.
197 - ISU favored - if they do wrestle Endene I’m looking for Rocky bonus.
285 - ISU favored - there will be talk on the Iowa side of Keuter winning this match, Yonger slams the door on that.
Iowa is favored in 4, we are favored in 4, gotta win the toss ups or hope we can steal one of the others.
I think the two biggest favorites are Iowa at 174 and ISU at 197 (assuming Endene).

Also I like zerban but with how j frost looked last night, he seems to be firing on all cylinders. Stylistically speaking zerban may be a better match up but who knows. We need a bonus point win out of PJ or frost, I think frost gives us that. Dean somehow needs to just keep it to a decision.

Any concern Iowa is getting ramped up with some excellent competition at National Duals and we will be coming in with just a single scrub match under our belt?
I think we have a better shot at bonus points than they do. We should expect to get 8 points total from Elam and bastida. I really don’t think Euton will give up bonus points. He’s impressed me. If MJ gets pinned then I take back everything I said. Have to hope he’s turned a corner this year. Need Vinny to get healthy and E frost to have a good cut.

We’re favored in the rest and unfortunately I think the two best chances for an upset are at 25 and 57.
I would call 25 and 57 toss ups really. I think our chances at an upset are in order of likelihood:

Something unexpected always happens like johnson mff over their 57 (forget his name) so hope it favors us.

Stevo vs Peterson will be a war and is a tossup. Expect a close, 1 TD match.
Ayala has shown some vulnerability. Frost can make this match interesting and even sneak out a win if he manages the weight well.
I don’t think Ech has any problems with Bailey.
Block will make this a very tough match. I expect Paniro to take it with 1 TD or OT, but Block is going to compete.

Pretty much spot on with my thoughts.
I had wondered if Iowa would use DeLuca but they did use Dean in their biggest duals of the weekend.
Paniro needs to get up early. The longer that match goes on being close favors Block.
Don't think we see a lot of bonus in this dual. For the first time in a while this dual is going to come down to us just winning where we should. If we do that, bonus points won't end up mattering that much. On paper I put it at 21-9 us, I do think Iowa steals at least 1 match they shouldn't to make it a little closer. But if we start losing more than 1 outside of 33, 74, 84 then it will get interesting.
Based on what I saw this weekend best probability of bonus points are:
1. 285 (likely)
2. 197 (likely)….let see how his blast double works against Elams length and how Endene does on bottom
3. 157 (depends on who wrestles for IA)
4. 184 (50/50 bonus)
W/o injury or a 7 point move by someone I don’t there is any bonus outside the 4 matches above.

For me, it's as simple as needing to have 10+ on the board at the end of 5 matches. Either need to get 4 wins or find some bonus (141-157) through that first half or else we're cooked. 165-184 is where we're outmatched and I'd be really surprised by a win at any of those weights and possibly giving up bonus. So first half of the lineup has to build enough of a lead to weather that storm and give Rocky/Yonger the chance win it.
