Yeah, as a cable cutter, I've just learned to adjust my TV watching habits over time and it suddenly just becomes normal. Overall, I'd say that I watch my favorite shows one of two ways now:
1. Wait until they get past their run and then go on Netflix where I then binge the whole thing commercial-free (or some other provider)
2. Watch the shows on-demand through each individual channel's app where they usually only house the last 5 shows with some type of commercial viewing required
I will say this, with option #2, it is at least less commercials and sometimes at less frequency than you'd have to watch live for cable TV. Like you said, each network is different too. Not great, but I've learned to live with it. At least it is on-demand and I can watch it on my time schedule, but a sacrifice nevertheless.
Oh, I guess there is kind of a third option where I watch the TV shows of streaming services (more and more popular by the day) like Daredevil on Netflix, where they release the entire series commercial-free. This option is easily my favorite.
