Sorry.

He did suck. A lot. He set the team back so far that it will take years for a good GM to get us back to contention.

I just think it's surprising that he had moments where he sucked less than usual.

However his lifetime achievement award for sucking far outweighs any non-suck moments by far.

here is more info and thoughts on possible prospects:

11:36 PM: Just got back from getting some coffee and find that a Ryan Dempster trade with the Dodgers seems imminent. Jim Bowden tweets, "Dodgers getting Dempster.....final dotting of i's and crossing of t's being worked on......" The Cubs have been asking for Allen Webster, who's a great fit in my opinion, or possibly Chris Reed, who immediately would become their top LHP prospect. Garrett Gould is also a possibility, though he's a step down from the other two, in my opinion. He'd still probably be the Cubs 2nd best SP prospect after Vizcaino, however - at least at the A ball level or higher.

It surprises me that fellow Cyclone fans in particular would be so spiteful and troll-like towards other Cyclone fans. We complain enough about Hawk fans acting like d-bags that I expect better.

Trust me, I know it's a rivalry and I will put in a jab or two once in a while, but blind seering hatred and venom gets old after a while and really makes you look like a **** wad.



Of course there is a huge contingent of baseball fans who just effing hate the Cubs, no matter what. My guess is they can't stand that there are so many Cubs fans even though the team sucks so much. If the Cubs had the fan following of the Royals, noone would care.

It seems like a lot of baseball "fans" hate the Cubs more than they actually like their team of choice.

I've seen some fanatical, crazy, psycho Cub fans that I really don't think many fan bases have, and those I can't stand. Hell, even my Cub friends can't stand them.

There was a guy at the bar next to Wrigley before the game that was screaming at the TV 3 hours before the game when Kerry Wood was doing his retirement speech. Words cannot describe his craziness. I wish I would have taken video. He was screaming at us to shut up so he could hear Kerry speak and was clapping at the TV screaming at it as tho Kerry could hear. Amazing. I do realize you are not all this way.

BUT, most of my really good friends are Cub fans and we get along great. It's a fun rivalry and I enjoy the back and forth. I go to Cub games with them even when the Cards aren't playing.

Yeah, every fan base has crazy fanatical *** hats that make the whole fanbase look bad. The Hawks have more than most! It's sad that someone acting like a d-bag is forcing me to agree with a hawk fan. Sad indeed.

I think it's odd how many people hate the Cubs though. It's not like they've ever hurt anybody. Hell they gave away lots of great players and have rarely kept anyone else out of the playoffs.

People should freakin love the Cubs for sucking so much and making them look better by comparison.
 
Back to the trade rumors!!

I'm glad to hear that we could at least get a decent prospect out of the Dodgers.

I was afraid Dempsters LA or Bust decision would really hurt their leverage and possible kill any deal.

Ok, I have seen hatred from Cardinal and Hawk fans first hand and I can imagine that Packers fans might not be great if you are a Vikes/Bears fan. Are Heat fans really that bad? I would think up until this year that they would have been made fun of more than anything due to not winning with Lebron.

The only Cub fan that I really disliked was a guy at Spring Training who thought he did a great Harry Caray.

First he was impersonating Will Ferrell doing Harry.....which was horse **** in my book.

Plus he was doing a ****** version of a ****** impression all game long. Totally Jeresy Shore wannabe
