Anyone know why Ankeny has crazy cheap gas compared to the surrounding area? Looks like $1.10 at Fleet Farm but anywhere from $1.15 to $1.21 in town as compared to an average of $1.69 around Des Moines.

Sams Club and Fleet Farm drive the prices down on that side of town.

Yep, $1.18 at Sam’s in Ames this morning still $1.83 elsewhere in town. Crazy how fast it has fallen. Saudi and Russia will probably come to a deal soon which will bring it back up a bit.

It's been one positive side effect from everything going on. When it hit 80 a few days ago, I took the top off the jeep and just went out for a drive.

I live in Norwalk and we are always way higher than anyone else around the metro and nobody knows why. So we have to get gas in Des Moines

So its akin to buying a snowmobile in July, you get a great price but are not able to take full advantage of it.

OPEC, Russia, the US, Mexico, and others reached an agreement today. Global production cut of 10 million barrels per day.

I get pissed off how Polk City and Slater can be as much as 15 cents or more cheaper than Grimes when I drive to Ames. Always try to plan to fill up on fuel around FB and BB games when I can.

Russia and Opec got in a pissing match over oil production and started a price war. Like someone posted already an agreement has supposedly been reached, so that might start to change.

I get why prices are down in general just was wondering why the crazy fluctuations from town to town. Des Moines and Ankeny are usually pretty close to the same or at least not averaging close to $.50 difference.
