Id like to see the success rate of guys that transfer “up”. It’s fun to see guys drop down and succeed at a level more suited for them. Like the MAC or FCS. I’ll always root for those guys. But how many have tried to chase a bag and flopped.

To be fair, there haven't been that many that have tried to transfer up. Which is a great testament to the culture here.

I can't think of one player that has left the program and had success.
Depends on what you consider success to be. Bouman has been South Dakota's starting QB for 3 years and has been good. Glantz and Larsen have been starting QBs at lower level teams since leaving ISU, and both have had success.

Several other guys start for their new teams - Gaines, Suttle, Norwood, Antoine Jr, McGee... Re-al Mitchell was successful at San Diego. Again, I guess it depends on what you consider success to be. Aric Horne has been solid at Florida A&M and could land in an NFL training camp next year.

One side of me feels bad for these kids who get bad advice, the other side of me says good riddance after bailing on a quality program who cares about development for a short-term payday.
Well, assuming he got paid something, right? Maybe not. Otherwise bad move for him.

McDonald has Big 12, Big 10, SEC covered. I'd now go Ivy League, where he'd start and get a degree from a top school.
