I would like some more information about Direct TV Stream form anyone who has it. We currently have Direct TV satellite. The basic package on 3 TVs is over $100 per month. It looks like the basic package of Direct TV stream is $69+ tax. Is this literally just a Direct TV service without the dish and the boxes? So, much more convenient at a cheaper price? After my brief look online I saw a statement on their website that each streaming device is $120. So, does that mean you still have to buy a device from them to stream on every TV or is it like every other streaming service and you can download the app without paying them $120 per TV?

I'm going to be so mad if they can't work things out. We'll have to find another option.
Ugh, this is part of the problem with these services. Its basically no different than cable now, minus the wires. Of those channels listed below, I am probably only interested in one or two of those. But NBC is trying to force all of them on to the consumer.

I'm irritated with the current cable/internet situation. I dumped directV after they stayed north of 100 bucks for basic with ESPN and I had 40 or 50 dollar centlink internet that was weak. So, I opted for cox internet @80 that was supposedly all I'd need and haven't even elected any permanent TV solutions, although they all keep getting slightly more expensive it seems. So, now cox starts sucking and I supposedly have too many devices, which of course they can fix for 20 more a month. If I then add any TV service I'm right back where I started. Its all a scam and 'cord cutting' is only a thing if you want to move your money elsewhere or go without.
I have AT&T TV now DirecTV Stream, also for the purpose of watching the Royals. I'm paying about $91/month. I dislike the viewing guide in how it pulls down the menu for each show when you select the channel. Knowing I can now get Hulu Live with ESPN+ AND Disney+ for the kids, I'll be switching back to Hulu Live after the season.
I really have enjoyed YTTV but most of my viewing centers around sports (baseball for me, all sports for my kids) and as a White Sox fan this has worked out well at our house. But if YTTV drops all of the NBC stuff they are really dropping the single channel I care most about NBCSportsChicago! Here is the update from today...hope they figure things out:

I will probably go the route of Peacock $4.99/month, mainly for Sunday night football.

I just having ANOTHER app on my Roku TV for streaming. (YTTV, HBO Max, Amazon Video, Apple TV, Netflix, Peacock)
Except the solution and the difference is you cancel whenever you want and go somewhere else with no strings attached.
The big issue is having a good enough infrastructure. (High speed, unlimited internet and a SmartTV, chromecast, appletv, etc and a wife that doesn't mind having to exit one app to change to another for a channel. That's not fun.)
Literally wouldn't change anything for me. I honestly only have YTTV for the sports and NBC is a sports wasteland for what I watch.
I can’t imagine that this will be a long standoff though but in the meantime I’ll take the $5 savings and do just that with Peacock premium. Maybe I will try to fit in a rewatch of The Office as a bonus.
It is just frustrating for me though due to the fact that in baseball alone YTTV in 2 years might have lost/quit broadcasting White Sox/Cubs/Twins/Brewers/Cardinals and Royals games! The only reason I didn't get too upset the last round of "losses" of regional sports networks was that I am a White Sox fan and NBCSC survived...but that may come to an end Friday? Ugh...
Someone a lot smarter than me...tell me...why would a regional sports channel not settle rather than allowing their channel to go off the air? I mean...isn't $1 better than nothing? They are still producing and airing the product whether YTTV gives them everything they want or not! Right? I have no idea what the dollar amounts that we are talking about are...but again...more TVs would seem like more money?
on the other side of the coin..why dont the RSNs sell their channels alacarte for like $10/month. Or maybe bundle 3 or 4 of them of your choice for $20/month.
I am delighted to have that large HD antenna in the attic as time marches on. The only things I pay for are Metronet 200 and ESPN+. I could not begin to afford what some of you are paying monthly for this type of entertainment.
