Coaching Search: Place your bets

Sadly, I think Prohm is going to be given another year. He honestly doesn't deserve it with the disaster he put together with a more talented squad this season, but JP isn't firing him during a pandemic-plagued season, where we haven't been able to make any money in tickets and concessions.
Pollard's lack of typical public support statements he makes here and there tells me Prohm is gone.

Jamie’s relationship with TJ tells me it’s going to be him but I’m hoping for Fred. Either way I’ll be able to watch Cyclone basketball again after 2 years.

Not if T.J. Is the coach. People who want him need to watch UNLV. They are just as poorly coached as ISU. It seriously looks like they are coached by the same guy.

Why not? We judge prohm and we aren’t qualified. We can also judge TJ.
Because no one knows what’s going on besides watching the ball. UNLV has won 13 games. So by my metric TJ is 6.5 times the coach Steve is. That’s fair right?

That’s all fine and dandy but tomorrow’s game should be interesting..

Oh gosh, TJ vs. Smith tonight. I hope its a competitive game. While Utah State is the favorite, we better not hope it comes across like Smith is running circles around TJ coaching-wise or this board will blow up even further.

If it does come down to coaching, Smith's team will win. Remember Nebraska being actually good years ago? Smith was the head assistant. He has won at each stop, and wasn't blessed with the school's career scoring leader carrying him.

He was at Nebraska for a couple years and they weren't good. And he has been to exactly one NCAA tournament. You right he didn't have the career scoring leader of Utah State carrying him his first two years, it was only the guy that is second in career scoring, second in assists, 1st in FT%, won the conference player of the year award and was honorable mention AP all American. They actually would have been even better his first year if he could have convinced Koby McEwen not to transfer.

Not saying Smith wouldn't work out here but he isn't a perfect candidate either.

For the TJ people...

Go to around 11:30 in this podcast and listen until around 13:30 or so. See what this guy thinks of TJ. Hint, it's not good. One of the worst coaches in the Mountain West. He can't believe ISU would want him and UNLV should pack him into a FedEx plane and send him to Ames.

(Click Play at the end of the sentence)

I don't really care what these two guys I have never heard of think.

That’s OK you can stay in your safe space.
That doesn't even make any sense. If TJ is the coach or isn't the coach, or if it is Joe Bloe from xyz University, I don't really care what two random podcasters think of the coach. Maybe you do and that is fine if you do but I couldn't care less.

I don’t get the obsession with TJ. I might not be following his progress but how is his team doing wherever? This program has been destroyed enough and we probably don’t need experiments anymore.
Our best coach recently, from after eustacy of course, has been the riskiest hire of all. Fred never had coached before.
