Coach Prohm Gets Extension

Yeah last year to this year wasn't an improvement at all!

You are 100% right.

We had different players last year? Oh yeah, who g
I think everyone expected an improvement from last year, and I’m glad we did; however this season ultimately was a disappointment

How so? Was your expectation going into the year to win the Big 12? I'd say probably not.

We we're picked 6th for a reason.

An extension/stability is generally beneficial for the program as a whole. The details will be telling as too how mutually beneficial it is. I will be interested to see what it took to lock him in and how much security for the program is built in.

Woo we got the Paul Rhoads of the hard wood till 2025. Lowering expectation meter drastically.

New settings calibrated at 5th place in the conference, first round NCAA tourney loss, with 60% likelihood of bubble team.

Hilton attendance down roughly 3% APY

Frustration of inbounds plays, offensive execution, and off court drama up roughly 10% APY.

Going to be a great half decade guys.

This is what is best for the program. Hopefully coach can improve as well. Great recruiter, room for improvement elsewhere.

You normally think bringing in a mid-major HC means he will run a "solid" program with good fundamentals and X's and O's yet maybe struggling in recruiting. A mid-major guy might lack the experience or contacts to go after the highest level of talent.

Ace recruiters are often assistants at other high-major programs before having a chance on their own who then, as the converse, oftentimes have more trouble with the basics of running the program and the schematic issues of actually playing the game.

It is ironic that Prohm is the opposite -- the mid-major guy who is a better recruiter than he is at the "fundamentals" stuff, though that, like anything, can be worked on. I think we would all agree the actual game plans are not as smooth under Prohm as they were under Hoiberg (at least on the offense... on defense, they are probably better, but that is not saying a ton), but bringing in guys like Wigginton and Horton-Tucker and hidden gems like Haliburton says the guy can recruit. We are going to be competitive, at least, if that continues.

Heck, even his maligned transfer recruiting is pretty good. Jacobson and Shayok worked out, Donovan Jackson was a nice shooter, and Nixon should be solid.

Lighten up. CSP was left with some players BUT came in at a tough time to recruit, so we knew there would be a little bit of a drop off the past couple of years. This year was a little disappointing but we did win the Big 12 tournament and have some great young pieces going forward. The future is bright my friend.
