I think we need more size. Not height, size. Michigan, Illinois, Tennessee, Arizona, Purdue all have multiple Bigs. We barley have 1. Not just height, but strength and height. We honestly have no Rim protector like other Elite teams, it shows when you get to this point in the tourney.

Our half court offense has been good for the most part when we have Jefferson. Tonight, it was pretty uncreative. I would have liked to see us try some more pick and roll with mommy or more “4 out offense” with guys at the wings and corners ready to shoot

Not only Milan, Bateman did not hit from 3 either. Tamin and Heise were the two willing to play hard on the offensive end. Toure was OK. This team without Jefferson is not going to win when Milan scores 6 points.

This offense relies on initial actions like high ball screens and dribble handoffs that don’t consistently create advantages against good defenses. That leads to late-clock isolation plays, usually by Jefferson. Now, with his skills, he is a tough matchup and can often get it a bucket or, when the defense collapses, kick out for a shot. Against disciplined teams, it doesn’t work as well so our offense stagnates.

It seems like we have no counter move for when that happens. We are a one trick pony on offense.
