We better play our A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

because these guys are better than the 2001 Miami Hurricanes.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
Those of us worried about this game are just saying the team will have to be focused and play like we did Saturday and not like we did at Arkansas State. If that offense shows up it will be a dog fight and we will struggle to win, if its the offense that was efficient and hitting on all strides like Saturday we will be fine.
So far this season we have not fallen behind a couple of scores and had to play catchup, that and not turning over the ball which we have been great at not doing are the keys to a win in Cincinnati to me.

Sorsby is my main worry

defensively I think cincy isn't great. They will have their stud D-lineman back, I'm guessing. He tried to give it a go last week @KU but was ruled out.

outscore them

Not sure what the totality of our injuries are, yet. But, all things being equal, this game (at best for Cincy) will be a boat-race. In that case, I'll take Rocco any day of the week. Worst case for Cincy, we carve them up when we have the ball and limit them to, maybe, 21 when they have the ball.

I'd take ISU and even lay 7 points in this game.

I think there are a lot of differences between this upcoming Cincy game and that Ark St game.

Both were road games and Cincy is a better team, we looked great Saturday after looking like we were going through the motions for most of the game two weeks before. The bye week paid off, but it means nothing if we cannot win the next two games, both on the road.

Sowell looked like the most talented player on the field yesterday. His performance gives me hope we can score more points against the UC defense than what UC can score against our defense. His unique abilities give Rocco more options.
Post game show, he said it was the first game he'd worn his contact lenses. If that's what it took to get it to click for him, I suggest NIL gets him LASIK after the season!

I dont think the Ark St game should be a metric we use at all. All of us are underestimating the exhaustion this entire team felt, being that they hadnt had a bye post ireland, and had 2 huge rivalry games

You have to take it one game at a time, and each game is a test. We were lucky to get out of the Arkansas game with a victory, and will need to keep improving to keep that going. Without a doubt is was a trap game, but you cannot just forget it and what almost happened, you have to use it as a caution to keep improving and working towards your goal.

I’m disappointed we came out how we did against Arkansas State however we played horrible, made mistakes and still won. You correct the mistakes in film and then flush it.
That’s what we did, obviously, as we just smoked Arizona. There aren’t any parallels between the Cincy and Arkansas State games outside of it being a road game and both team wear similar colors.

Cincy is a talented 3-1 conference opponent and they’re coming off a high energy win @ KU. We will not overlook them. They’re a solid team.

Im sure that by thursday the excitement i am feeling about this game will turn to anxiety, but i cant wait to watch this offense be turned loose specifically the passing game.

Those of you that gamble and dont reside in the state of iowa, what is rocco's passing yards over/under for this game?

Of course, this is 100% correct. Im just saying using as a metric as in "boy if we play this way, then X happens" is not a realistic way to look at it IMO, because there were so many outside factors that made that game significantly closer than it should have been. 9 times out of 10, that game is a 2 possession game if not more

You're giving cincy way too much credit, they are only 3-1

Fact of the matter is that if we show up like we did against Arkansas State we will likely lose. If we show up like we did against every other team we’ve played this year, and yes, even Kansas State, we likely win.
I think we probably need an effort like last week to win. We got the job done but we made a lot of mistakes against Kstate and Iowa who are average at best. We will get blown out if we play like we did at Arkansas State.

Yeah I guess it depends on a variety of things. Like sure we played great Saturday but we also beat the piss out of Arizona. Arizona and Cincy are probably common opponents.

The assumption also is that teams play better at home than on the road. We sucked in our only road game and Cincinnati has played pretty well on the road in two pretty hostile environments.
