Chris Thomas has decomitted from Xavier

If Bubu were to be found not guilty but the trial ended in March, could he be let back on the team and be redshirted again?

He could be let back on the team and could play for the 2013-14 season. There would be no need to red-shirt. Plus he already red shirted and you have 5 years to complete 4. He would be a RS Sr for the 2013-14 season.

I knew he already red shirted, but I figured a 6th year may be possible, such as a medical redshirt. But I doubt it's ok.

I asked Travis Hines about C Thomas yesterday - whether he is still a '13 recruit, or if going JuCo makes him a '14 recruit. Hines seems to think he's still a '13 player. I'm still confused how this works, but Hines is a professional, so I'll go with what he says.

For the record, I'm indifferent about the staff re-engaging him. I know he's supposed to be an incredible scorer, but Fred would really have to work some magic to keep him focused - it would seem. If we do, great. If we don't - I'm ok.

Even unfocused. The worst that could happen is he doesn't play. I hope he lands him. He is a one and done player.

There are team repercussions if he doesn't stay focused in the classroom.

have you seen bubu play? I think we can just go ahead and cut ties, regardless of how the trial turns out.

Bubu needs to concentrate on his trial before he thinks bball at this point. My pure guess is he will be back a year from now after the trial resolves the situation.

Chris Thomas sounds like the perfect use for a scholarship that may be available due to a sexual assault.

I'd welcome him if we went after him and he signed. Merely from faith of CFH's judgement. But it's one of those situations where I wouldn't be too upset either way. There isn't a coaching staff in the country that I'd trust more to be the judge of one's character and whether or not it would fit into what the basketball program is trying to accomplish.

i've seen bubu play - he hustles, gets to the free throw line, has an improving outside shot, and plays great D. because of that, he was complimented numerous times last season by our head coach, and rewarded with a scholarship.

when korie lucious is 1-8 in the first half and we're down 10 in the game this year, we're all going to miss bubu.

Bubu may be back next year. However, he also may elect to move on even if the trial next year turns out great. Time will tell.
