Chicago State game canceled

The good news is next opponent, Baylor, isn't that good. Only leading Arkansas-PB 6-2 at 16:00 mark of 1st half. ;)

Currently 2-4 and 0-2 in conference.. remaining schedule now with 17 games left:

#2 Baylor twice
#3 Kansas twice
#7 West Virginia once
#10 Texas twice
#15 Texas Tech twice

Thats 9 games against teams currently ranked in the top 15.

Remaining games:
@ KSU, @ OU, @ MS ST, @ OSU, @ TCU

vs OSU, vs OU, vs TCU.

So 14 of our remaining 17 games are either against top 15 teams or are on the road.
There’s a legitimate chance this team wins 4/5 games and goes something like 4-19 or 5-18.

Winner, winner. The saving grace is that multiple games will be canceled. The team is the equivalent of KU football and no one is going to stay in the bubble when your losing every game by 20 points.

Not surprised by this. I went to the Chicago State game yesterday @ Drake and I noticed the Cougars hardly had any bench players. Thought I was imagining things. Apparently not!

I don't understand why anyone would want games canceled, even games we'll probably lose. You are on an Iowa State Basketball message board, so you obviously like following the program. Yet, you want to watch fewer games?

I looked at the box score earlier today and thought it was odd they only played 7 players and the 2 that came off the bench didnt score.

Bad news, by half the score was 55-12 and final was 99-42. We might need our A game against Baylor. That and a couple immediately eligible transfers named Luca Garza, Jalen Suggs and Ayo Dosunmu.:)

Perspective can be funny. The Chicago State Athletics website reads:

Chicago State Men’s Basketball Announces Schedule Change
Chicago – The Chicago State men's basketball team announced today that the December 22 game at Iowa State has been postponed due to an insufficient number of available student-athletes to participate in the competition.

Curious that the ISU website says the game was cancelled. Not sure if Chicago State was hoping to play the game over the next couple weeks.

They are 0-9 and only played 6 to 8 players their last 4 games in some pretty major blowouts.

With both the DePaul and Chicago State games cancelled, it would still be nice to get a game in after the Christmas Holiday and before Baylor. We might want to avoid Chicago teams.

I’m not watching probably until Prohm is gone. The more cancellations, the less embarrassment

Not only is Chicago St. down to a limited number of players, they have been down to only one coach (an assistant) at times this year.

Lance Irvin their head coach is a former Iowa State assistant under Larry.
