*** CFB Championship Week Games Thread***

Do you all actually believe TCU is really going to get kicked out for one gutty OT loss that came down to the last second for a 2 loss team that didn’t even play its conference championship?

Come on.
Exactly. TCU is in. People will talk like there's a chance that Bama gets in, because they want the drama to drive interest, but the only chance TCU had to miss the playoff was getting blown out. And that didn't happen.

Wow! You have to

Come on.

They’ve been kicked out from the same #3 ranking for a 48 point win.

It’s possible.

Frankly I don’t really think they look like one of the best four and now the have a loss.

I think Duggan just punched his ticket as a Heisman finalist, to be sure.

Still don't think he'll win. Actually if he HAD won that game on a QB sneak, he could have had a chance I think.

Assuming Georgia and Michigan win, I think the top 4 is set.

I'm curious on the seeding. Does the committee want another Michigan/Ohio State matchup right away? Or would they prefer splitting the two Big 10 teams up?
I can't see TCU not losing at least 1 spot with the loss today. The two ways I could see it playing out...

1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. Ohio St.
4. TCU

Or...

1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. Ohio St.
4. Alabama

Could come down to the committee choosing between a Michigan v. tOSU semi, or rolling the dice and chancing a Michigan v. tOSU championship game. I don't think they'll want to take that chance.

Yes, you have to. Strategy is different in OT … in regulation if you fail to score, you’re forcing the other team to drive 99+ yards. That’s a good trade off. If you don’t make it in OT, the other team doesn’t even have to move the ball 10 yards for an easy FG and you lose.

Take the 3, hope you hold your opponent to 3 themselves, then you go last in the second OT.

But TCU probably should have tried Duggan on one of those last two plays.

Is it about “who looks like one of the best” or is it “who proved they are one of the best?”
Because Georgia certainly didn’t look like one of the best when they barely beat Mizzou. Michigan didn’t look like one of the best when they barely beat Illinois.

TCU has proved they are one of the best by going 12-0 in a P5 conference and arguably the toughest SOS. You don’t award a team for sitting at home this weekend and not having to play in a conference championship game, at least at the expense of an undefeated team heading into this weekend.

There are numerous differences from that scenario to the current one. That is not an apples to apples comparison at all

I’m terrified that the best version of Matt Campbell is Chris Klieman. Cuz that would definitely suck.

You think this is based on who deserves it? That’s only half the conversation. But I do think TCU makes it because if it’s just Big10 and SEC you’re really rolling the dice that the rest of the country will still watch.

$ can be a factor when it’s a very close decision. Sure. But there’s no true argument to put Bama in over TCU. Making that decision would be blatantly obvious to the whole country of a system that’s broken.
