Small dogs are the worst. Useless and yappy as ****. We’ve got two indoor cats, both with dog personalities. I love big dogs and hope to get one soon, but I am sure I’ll always have at least one cat. They’re bastards in a way that you almost have to respect.
And big dogs are "useful" and never bark a lot? Not all small dogs bark a lot. My Boston rarely barks. Same with my parents little dog. And I know of several big dogs in my neighborhood that never shut the **** up when they are outside. And how, exactly, are big dogs "useful"? Not a lot of people use dogs for utility any more. Not many people have attack dogs for security, and little dogs are just as capable of alerting home owners of intruders as big dogs. My little dog would be just as ferocious as my big dog with an intruder, which is to say both of them would probably run up for pets if the person acts calm and sticks their hand out.

You don't have to defend your chihuahua, it's ok.

I don't know, I don't get annoyed by low pitch loud barks, but yippy non stop chirps drive me insane.

As for protection, I would imagine a large breed is somewhat more intimidating than something I can just step on, but you are correct, if someone handed my lab a milk bone, or a piece of cheese, she'll be your friend for life.

Not defending my "Chihuahua", which is actually a Boston as I stated. Obviously you struggle with reading comprehension. Just pointing out the fact that every negative stereotype that applies to small dogs applies to big dogs as well.

Calm down, we're all having fun here. I know you said you had a BT, if you want to call out reading comprehension maybe you need to work on understand sarcasm. Sounds more like you have some unresolved issues with having a small dog...

Someone is definitely a fit for the politics forum!

Again, if you can't take a joke about your small dog from a stranger on CF, that seems like a you issue.

That said, I apologize if you were truly offended by my chihuahua comment. If you love small dogs, you be you! The great thing about being people is that we are all different (as are our pets)!

You'd be much better in the politics forum. Passive aggressive works real well there.

And for those of you who say cats are never affectionate...
We kicked the cats out of the bedroom early this morning because they were getting cuddly around 6 am. Lew got up at 8 and probably fed them at that point. I got up at 9. When I came out of the bedroom, Milo the Dork immediately began purring and tangling around my legs. He jumped up on the bathroom counter to "help" me brush my teeth and do all the other morning things. He followed me back to the bedroom to help me get dressed. When I sat down here at my computer desk, he jumped up in front of me and laid down across my arms. He's STILL there. And he's still purring. It has a very calming effect.
And how do you resist this belly, just begging to be rubbed???
