Employees are clueless. I ordered a pizza online once. The Doordash guy shows up with nothing close to what we ordered. So I call them and they said they didn't have the ingredients to make our pizza.

I go down there, becuase I guess in those situations they charge you, cancel it, and just move along without telling you.

Guy at pizza counter blames Doordash guy first, then tells me to talk to front. 16 year old at front says he doesn't know how to refund anything and the manager wouldn't be in until Monday.

Most places where people have an actual choice, they lose. Lol. They're just littered throughout small one-shop towns where they're the only game. Hence, "they make money."
And they neglect those stores horribly because they're the only one in town. They have put all of their capital into expansion it shows.

But they must be doing something right. When they go into these small towns the mom and pop cstores that previously were in these towns are all closed because the new Casey's wipes them out. If they were that bad that wouldn't happen.

I'm guessing when they go in they're a whole lot cheaper with a much larger selection than the mom and pop shops which is why they win out. I highly doubt they're winning on quality, lol. This is small town Iowa we're talking about.

I've ordered pizza online numerous times with no issue.

In the 80s Casey’s had the feel of a one off rural thing not a big corporate chain, at least it did to me compared to every other gas station in Sioux City.

I think they were. In a lot of areas there used to be Handimarts and Casey's went in and took those over in the 90s I think.

I was always a big Casey's fan. I worked there making and delivering pizzas in high school. It was always incredibly clean and good place for doughnuts too. Recently I have been ordering casey's pizza's to be delivered to my elderly father. They did alright the first 7-8 times but this last time they screwed up the delivery and never delivered the pizza. I called and asked to get a refund to his card, nope you have to call the Corporate office. I was like what? it is a $24 pizza, why can't you just remake for free or give him his money back. Nope talk to Corporate. Finally after many days Corporate refunded the pizza. What a joke.

This is literally their original business model, and you'll probably have better luck at Casey's in towns "too small" for kwik star.

It's also more of a desirable or "legitimate" career choice in more rural situations. Trying to hire a competent and enthusiastic GM in let's say Ankeny or Cedar falls with a bigger store, more to manage, and maybe more questionable personnel to choose from is probably a lot tougher task than we think.
Kwik Stars stores are massive compared to Casey’s, and they don’t seem to be having trouble hiring people that actually care about how their stores look.

My god has this gas station gone to ****. Employees are clueless and slower than humanly possible, bathrooms are terrible, etc. Using my rewards was almost an impossible task for the person working tonight. Using what I have in rewards left and switching full time to kwik star or QT. End of rant.
As someone that travels for a living, I can confirm I've contracted chronic pnumacockal Pneumonia from the piss vapors and lost years of health from their bathrooms. 15 years ago our self funded health insurance required us to self report smoking. I've heard rumblings that they are now going to make us self report using caseys bathroom similar to smoking.

Agreed the town is live in has two Casey's, and a mom and pop that's only good for gas. It's strongly rumored that a KS is coming, can't wait.

I will say the ones within small towns tend to have pretty good local kids working that seem pretty well organized. Not always but it's something I've noticed.

The ones that are more like truck stop/freeway exit Caseys tend to be...well, methy.

I have a Casey’s and a Kwik Trip near my house. The only reason to visit Casey’s is the breakfast pizza.
