Can we talk about Michigan's noncon schedule?

Colorado St
Hawaii
UConn

I know there isn't a definitive site for all 131 teams but here's a quick result:

Agree. I was going to post something about this earlier, but forgot.

After UConn they get Maryland at home, then Iowa, and then Indiana. They won’t have any competition at all until Penn State the week after Indiana.

That’s life in the mighty B1G folks. It’s such a grind according to all the media though.

That schedule basically says their only path to CFB Playoff is winning Big10 Championship game and winning 11 or more games in regular season.
Not when they start the season ranked so high. There is a very real chance that if they or OSU win out then both could get in. One undefeated and one with one loss. Still have a lot of season to go but that is a very real possibility

The mighty big ten. It amazes me the tv deals they get. Anyone outside of Ohio State gets smoked by decent teams.

Charmin soft. I'd like teams to be punished by the committee but they haven't really rewarded teams for scheduling tough so why bother.

That slate was weak-on-paper before season, even worse in reality. Hawai'i might be the worst D-1 this year. Colorado State lost to Middle Tennessee. UConn is UConn.

U-M in recent history has had some weaklings, but almost every season at least one from a P5 league or the occasional Notre Dame.

Michigan might go 3-0 vs. even a modest non-con anyway, but there should be consideration in CFP rank for having SUCH a bad set of opponents. Not sure how much weight, but some.

Makes sense all they need to do with the current setup is beat Ohio State to get the championship and blast the Big 10 West sacrifice and they're in. Why risk an L? Lowers injury risk and keeps your team fresh too.

B10 wont get 2 in. Half the conference sucks.
I’m not disagreeing with you but perception is what matters here. Michigan and OSU will be too 4/5 teams all the way till the end. PAC is already out, Clemson has to run the table convincingly same for Oklahoma. If Clemson or Oklahoma drop one then the big ten will get two in (if they continue to win out)

The fans hate it too, especially because next year isn’t any better. Hard to get up for a game when it’s almost impossible to win by less then 40

Hawaii is easily the worst FBS team. They got obliterated by Vandy and I watched their entire game against WKU. They're pitiful

Jim will have a stupid loss somewhere.

Normally I would agree but this year there schedule is soooo easy. It has been talked about the entire off season. If sparty continues to struggle their won’t be a single game they get pressured in before OSU and Ryan Day might not be that guy.

Oh I would hate it as a fan. Having one cream puff to start the year is fine. Just enjoy a good beginning of the year tailgate and it's kinda fun to watch a lot of guys get playing time but I wouldn't want that multiple times per year
