Campbell owns Klieman

He was pretty complimentary of Iowa State on Saturday. I find myself liking him and not hating him like I would expect to hate a rival coach. Probably means he's gonna lose the job soon if things don't improve for them down the stretch. Could find himself on the hot seat even with an 8-4 type season.

The media/fan mentions of how Kstate was playing better/etc remind me of the Pop Tarts bowl.
Seems like EVERYONE non ISU said the only reason we won is because they pulled Ward and he didn't play the second half. Miami was up 3 at half. You would think they were up 30 with how people talk.

The guys on Pardon My Take (Barstool) touched on the game and all they mentioned was that Kansas State got screwed on the spot of their late 4th and short attempt, and the fight between Avery Johnsons dad and brother. Didn't even mention Iowa State much less give credit. Guess Iowa State has to start winning games by 3+scores to start getting any credit on a national level.

“K-state was playing better” even though they never had the lead in the game and were 1 yard away from losing by 3 scores…funny how those two things are glossed over by their fans.

Between Tang being Tang and us owning them in football lately, its finally feeling like a rivalry to me (not quite to Iowa level but never will be)....and of course the Big 12 doesn't protect it.

The spot was accurate. The only reason people think it was bad is because the camera angle they kept using was from behind the play, and the orange first down marker wasn't pointed straight, it was pointed back towards the KState side at an angle. But the marker is irrelevant, the post is all that matters. That combined with not being able to see the field lines at all lead dumb people (mostly KState fans) to believe Johnson got the first down, when he was clearly 1-2 feet short.

How much credit would they give ISU if they score that last TD though?

Shocking to me how so many of these CFB talking heads just score/stat peep, and don’t actually have any factual information about the game

Wonder if we get slack because of the numbnuts to the east being in the same state.

Same sets of people who have AP votes and also sit on the CFP committee btw.

We played our “C” game and were legitimately very close to winning by 41-14.

KSU may have also played their “C” game, but would need a lot more things to go differently to have won 41-14

Cursory fans tend to gravitate towards outlier big plays/yardage, when the real measure is consistently winning the snap.

Outside of their unexpected 4 man DL front resulting in missed assignments by our OL in the first half, and a couple misreads by our young safeties, we were clearly the better and more talented team. KSU needed those things to stay on the game imo

It’s a long season though. Both are development and execution programs. The success the season for both teams will be based on improving from here. I like our starting point
