Just read an article about Campbell helping Roger decide who to keep on the team from the guys that were not transferring. I thought it was interesting and it makes me feel a little better about what happened. Clearly Rogers let a few guys that Campbell didn't think were worth holding on to.

Campbell sure wasn't happy with what Rogers did with the majority of the roster he didn't want to take with him to Sandusky Valley

I don’t doubt Campbell and other coaches tried to help in the process but there’s other story lines that happened. Campbell took more than he thought he would. He expected his guys he didn’t take to have cushy spots next year. And Rogers and Co said sayonara to some of those kids

For the most part in their profession, it’s one big spider web of contacts. So people try to create new bridges, try not to burn bridges, and help each other.

Obviously Matt wanted to keep Jimmy on his good side, just in case Matt fails miserably and wants to be a coordinator at ISU.

I’m cautiously optimistic that Rogers has built a roster that can be competitive with the middle tier of B12 teams. CMC did a superb job while in Ames and represented the school with class. Time to move on and get behind the new coach. I thought the use of the color black had run its course too. I’ll laugh if PSU comes out in black sometime.

Campbell took way more guys than I ever thought he would, but again, he needed to do what he thought was right for his team. I'm just saying that every team has some guys that have not and never will develop into contributors. It was nice of Campbell to help Rogers thin out the guys that he thought wouldn't play. The last thing that the Clones need now is a bunch of guys that are not going to contribute. I'm sure there will be several of the 81 new guys that are going to not be on the field. It's just part of the college football.

Rogers is probably better at talent evaluation than Campbell, Campbell was more of a 4 sport athlete recruiter from a good family. Rogers literally doesnt care about all that, he is more like, how hard can I push you and a tape reader. I honestly doubt there was much input that Rogers put into action. Also Campbell realizes his only chance at a statue is Ames so he need to keep on good terms.
