Wrestlers are wired differently. At the end of the day, financially we couldn't compete with PSU and there were similar stories about an AD with an ego that we've all heard about this last weekend. It's been 16 years....it is what it is at this point.

Cael was never winning 12 titles in 16 years here. But I do firmly believe he'd have 4-5 now. But that's also assuming everything else stayed status qou from then to now.

We were poised to win it all the year Cael left. We had a stacked lineup with upperclassmen Varner, Z, Gallick, Fanthorpe, etc. and were bringing in a top recruiting class that included David Taylor. If we won the title and continued momentum with Taylor, who knows what would have happened.

That said, his record at PSU clearly proves that he made a good decision (for him, not us).

Some of y’all need to get a grip. You’re acting like Cael is sliding into Matt’s DM’s trying to get a late night hookup in happy valley. Matt called him after he was taking the job.
