You can say that again. He can eat a bag of di(k$...
Most of us here I think are probably former ISU students who grew up in Iowa, and we project that experience onto the athletes. For an athlete not from Iowa, the relationship with the university is a very different experience, it's more about the coach like you said.I don't think he hates Iowa State or Pollard. I think lifelong fans assume anyone that plays here develops the same undying love for all things ISU that they have, and that's not the case. Some do, like Niang, Haliburton, Bruns, etc... but many remember Ames as a fun place to be for a few years, but that's about it. They have a stronger tie to their former coaches and teammates than they do the University.
He absolutely hates PollardI don't think he hates Iowa State or Pollard. Iowa (the state) is also somewhat unique here in having no pro teams in any major sport. Cyclones and Hawkeyes are the Dallas Cowboys of Iowa. If I grew up in Chicago I'd probably be a die-hard Bulls fan instead (but I didn't).Kinda like my dad told me about his experience in the Army. When you are in a fox hole, your loyalty is not with the Army, it’s with the guy sitting next to you.
How is this different from TJ helping recruit Jimmy to ISU?Wow how much does that guy hate Jamie Pollard and Iowa State. Helping recruit CMC to Penn State!?!
Cael wrestled at ISU and went undefeated and won 4 national titles... then he left. There's absolutely no one in the history of ISU that should have more loyalty to his school (maybe Gable, but he wasn't given the chance to coach). What any student, let alone athlete that goes through at ISU (or any college) is not just a "fun place"; it means more, it's hard work and shapes you for the rest of your life. It was for me, my day and my grandpa that went to ISU before me. Cael had way more success and recognition and fan support than Campbell; more than Hoiberg, Niang, Haliburton, Carr (dad or son), Purdy, etc. But obviously he left, doesn't give a *hit, and now is helping poach our coaches in other sports, telling them the money is better than loyalty. I have no respect for Cael or Campbell now.I don't think he hates Iowa State or Pollard. There, fixed it.Iowa (the state) is also somewhat unique here in having no pro teams in any major sport. Cyclones and Hawkeyes are the MINNESOTA VIKINGS of Iowa. If I grew up in Chicago I'd probably be a die-hard Bulls fan instead (but I didn't).
Does TJ hate Washington State? Was not aware. How is this different from TJ helping recruit Jimmy to ISU?
Because TJ is our guy, so this is MUCH different. How is this different from TJ helping recruit Jimmy to ISU?
Define “recruit”.How is this different from TJ helping recruit Jimmy to ISU?
Because there's no report of TJ sending Pollard a 45 min unsolicited call about Jimmy like Cael did to MCM.How is this different from TJ helping recruit Jimmy to ISU?
