Against a team like BYU who can handle the ball and has multiple good 3 point shooters I’d like to see us play more straight up defense rather than extending with pressure and trapping like we do. This is the type of team, as seen in the first game, who can spread us out and kill us with open looks from 3. But I get that it’s hard for teams to change their identity. That aggressive pressure and trapping is what we do and what makes our defense great. It’s a quandary against an opponent like this.
