Guessing Sioux Falls is one also and they are Miles from the border. The clear lake area is 50/50 if Rochester or DM. Rochester has more choppers and quicker response so we generally dealt with them.

From creston in southwest Iowa, my dad was always taken all the way to Iowa city. Most of the time by his own car, but occasionally ambulance or life flight.
They were fantastic though. He had a heart transplant there after a few years of multiple heart attacks and made it an extra ten years.

A friend of my wife who is a Mayo flight nurse said she thought only about 30% of flights they take off for end up with actual life flights. Many get waived off en route due to different reasons. Her understanding is if certain conditions are met (high speed accident, etc.) dispatch automatically calls in a life flight and establishes contact with someone on the ground who can assess whether they tell the pilot to keep flying or turn around.

I don't think Sioux Falls as a Level 1. Omaha has 2.

Yeah the more that I’ve seen the more I think it was CC. Now that I’ve seen the timeline I’m actually more concerned about brain function. That is a very long time to have compressions going.

She's a badass that has seen things I can't even understand. I actually went to her ER department resident graduation this past summer as they gave her an award. I was in awe of everyone. Thanks for doing what you do.
I didn't know the name of this medical event but I'd heard of it happening. Frankly makes me wonder how it doesn't happen in football more often.
