Re: Bubu back again

Long's improved. Bubu never improved, his go to move for three years was to dribble into the defenders chest and fall over while rarely making a fluke layup off the top of the backboard. I guess in my clearly minimal observations I've noticed a few things, like, I don't know, his -22 +/- on a tournament caliber team in limited time last season.

Honestly, if you think Bubu is a strong add to a roster any argument you make is moot. He's nothing but a distraction that seemingly can't take a hint, a large, alarmingly obvious hint.

Did somebody say this?
If Bubu coming back allows us to have Monte starting at pg with Kane at the 2 I think it's a good move. Bubu isn't going to set the world on fire, but he can be serviceable to this team that doesn't have a ton of depth at the guard spots.

And the reason you passed up the coaching position when it was offered to you is why? Just curious since you seem to know more than our current coach....

It's called coaching hyperbole. What do you think Fred is going to say in public about one of his players? Don't be that naive. Dial up a game from the last couple seasons and then come back and tell me otherwise.

Would you stop it already? People on here just want to continue bashing him. They don't need facts and opinions of highly respected basketball coaches who would know what they're talking about getting in their way

morality in this country accelerated into an unforeseen death spiral in November 2008 and hit an entirely new gear in November 2012.

How about morality and civility in the country have just about died when people use hyperbole and blame everything wrong in society with those they politically disagree with regardless of the facts.

Oh please. That is the weakest argument I've heard yet.

Re: Bubu back again

Long has improved because he is not coming in as pg. Even if Long's improvement was relevant, were you saying he had improved prior to seeing him on the court? Seriously, do you even watch the games?

How would that not be relevant? What the hell? My God, I forgot how bad you are at this.

Yes, I watch the games and I have a feeling I have a better grasp of what is going on than you could ever possibly have.

Could be, but game tape shows otherwise. You know what is not hyperbole? Renewing a former walk-on's scholarship when needing to replace four senior guards. The fact we needed to get guards and we still gave a scholarship to Bubu tells me is a hell of a lot better than you think.

Re: Bubu back again

the ruling doesnt mean that bubu has to be on the team, only that they cant ban him. CFH could still not allow it, and its clear to me that he wants him on the team.
No judge can force CFH to play bubu. His lawyer mentioned in the Ames tribune that" Playing time is up to the coach." Fred however has the power to suspend Bubu from the team if he does something wrong.(violation of team rules).

Please stop attempting to interject yourself into this conversation, it's just.. just awkward.

Fred gave Bubu meaningful minutes in multiple NCAA tournament games. Was that also coaching hyperbole?

I don't disagree. I just don't think we should switch into purely blaming the accuser and pretending Bubu didn't put himself in this situation with what was, at the very best, some very, very, very poor decisions made under questionable circumstances. Bubu screwed up. Iowa State just has somehow managed to screw up as well, and in a much more well paid, deliberate, and public manner.

BuBu didn't put himself in this situation, the girl called him to come pick her up from the bar. All we know is that BuBu had sex with a girl he had a prior relationship with that had been drinking, we don't even know that she was drunk. I think we can say that she wasn't incapacitated if she used her cell phone and recalled what happened. If having sex with a girl that's been drinking is making a very very very poor decision and screwing up, then yes BuBu screwed up. Care to ask how many of the rest of us "screwed up" when we were at ISU?

Re: Bubu back again

Leath and Pollard should put out a quiet Friday afternoon press release stating that they were wrong, and glad it is now resolved. Let's finally put this behind us.

Works for me. .... Or maybe Dr Leath could stand at center court while the honorable Iowa District Court Judge Thomas Bice delivers a read out of his fabulous ruling!

Order in the court cuz ...

Good god you are an idiot. Long got better because he no longer is forced to play pg. Might as well bring up Ejim's improvement.

Re: Bubu back again

1. It is clear that Fred has valued Bubu's contributions in the past. That is very, very clear.

2. Bubu said in his interview with the Register that he is joining the team and that he doesn't care what his role is. He specifically said that he would play on the scout team if that's what they wanted.

1) Have you seen the all of the evidence that Leath considered in his decision?

2) What exactly did you want Leath to do?

1) Yes.

2) Read the evidence, see Bubu is innocent and can play.

3) IF he decides Bubu can't play, maybe not be an ******* and let him transfer somewhere else.

Re: Bubu back again

I find it ironic that so many people criticize our defense and then in the next breath say Bubu wouldn't help this team. I'm not talking about if you think its right or not right for him to play, but to take that out of it and say he wouldn't help this team during games is just baffling.

Re: Bubu back again

Before all of this mess took place, I believe that Fred said that Bubu would probably be a starter after his performance in the summer league. I also believe he said that he was the best defender on the team. But then again, what does he know?

He knew MM had yet to play a minute of college ball. MM hopefully has eased any anxiety on his ability to play. He also knew Kane wasn't on the team so naming Bubu a contributor wasn't much of a stretch. Seems we have way better options now and known and proven. Bubu has not come close to showing the same skills as Kane or MM.

Can you provide me a copy or a link, so that I can judge for my self if Leath made the correct decision?

Also, why should I trust your assessment of the evidence over Leath's? I know about him and his background. I know nothing about you.
