Bring back Larry

Not exactly. What I am saying is that some guys catch lightning in a bottle. Nothing in Larry's resume suggests that he has success without Tinsley.

I guess all the conference titles before he got to ISU were attributed to Jamal?

I've said this many times before, and all the LE detractors will never admit this, but LE would have taken WM's first team on a deep run in the NCAA tourney. That team wouldn't have been in the NIT under Larry.

LE had set the table again with WB, CS, JH and JV. If you could take the blinders off you might be able to see that.

McDoormat needs to call timeouts when teams go on 10 point runs against us... Maybe we should ask Tim Floyd who would be a good Coach for us since he got us Larry.

He also needs to not call time outs when we're in the middle of putting runs together.

He also needs to leave players in who are hot, not sit them down as part of his over-complicated over-substituting schemes.

Maybe. Can't guarantee anything in basketball with any amount of talent. If you could, the first weekend of the tournament wouldn't do such big business.

The problem with your argument is that you say LE only caught lightening in a bottle with JT, and you fail to recongize how much talent he had in WB, CS, JH and JV.

The last two actually played under him. What did he do with that?

That's going to the problem with your argument. Probably why we disagree.

All the time, coaches put together a quick run at one time that they've never substantiated with that kind of record anytime else. People remember that time as though it would have happened all the time, no matter what else happened.

I maintain that it happens with Elite Eight runs all the time. There are a number of one-time wonders there that did catch lightning in a bottle. They never do it again, because things went there way unusually to get there the first time.

Wesley- Not to be picky, but we've had two bad season (and working on a 3rd). 4 years ago was mediocre (but a winning season) and 5 years ago we were in the NCAA and won a game before being knocked out by national champion North Carolina. Morgan was popular with his players and when you fire a coach like that you risk losing a lot of them, which we did, and we're still paying the price. I'm not sure GMac is the guy to get us out of this hole, but I haven't completely given up on him yet. My main problem with him is that his style is boring to watch, especially when we're losing.

I dont think LE would put up with the lack of hustle, and effort this team exhibits.

We also had a nice win at Kansas that year, and if I'm not mistaken the year before was the free throw game that we should have won as well.

I'm not completely jumping on the fire GMAC bandwagon yet, but I will say that LE's teams would never have been out hustled or out rebounded. Regardless of the players/talent he had out there, they hustled their ***** off the entire time.

Larry would rip someone's throat out with what we showed this year in terms of heart.

GMac doesn't seem to care much more than the players.

Right. LE would have them running till they puke and then run some more.

There doesnt seem to be any leadership from the players, and worse than that, there is no leadership from the bench either...

Morningside?

They would have been outplayed many times. I think the records show that.

I know it's not popular to be something other than a Larry fan. That's fine. I'm just not impressed with him.

best X's and O's coach we ever had. Too bad we didn't get to see his coaching with Morgan's recruiting. Damn Nattie Light.

I am down on basketball now, however I hope McD can get it turned around because he is a good guy.

Sorry, but Larry was not even close to Tim when it came to X's and O's. Larry coached a style and stuck with it. Tim could change stuff in the middle of a game and make it work.

You need to let go of the hate Stacey.

I totally agree our talent was better then, but to say it was all because of 1 player is insane. We probably had A LOT better players on the court last night so what happened there? Also I think a lot of coaches would take his resume and at this point so would I.

With all do respect to Larry, he drank Miller Lite. It was Kroenke and the Missouri students who had the Natural Light at the party. But trust me Larry in a robe smoking a cig stating he was Hugh Hefner was some funny stuff.

The day LE went down was the day his best friend in Ames Pete Taylor died.
