Breece Hall and Troy Davis Impressions

The More I watch him, I am starting to realize he is the best we have ever had. His vision is ridiculous, speed is NFL ready, his shiftiness is insane, and he has power. He is the most complete back we have ever had, and he is the best college back I have seen play this season. Sit back and enjoy the show.

I'd have to disagree, and I was there for every game TD played. Troy didn't have near the supporting cast, yet still had back to back 2k seasons. He's was kinda like Derrick Henry is now. Everyone knew who's getting the rock, but there ain't much they could do about it!! Troy got overlooked for the Heisman by voters on both coasts, and in the South, and still ended up 2nd in the voting!!

I do agree that BHall is the best in the nation this year, it's too bad that there is such a small sampling to compare him to... Next year we should be back to at least almost normal, and Breece can dominate the headlines from coast to coast. Downtown Athletic Club, look out!!!

blaze was short and quick. I don’t see Hall at all with him.
Crutch was a little bigger and more physical plus we had rip away jerseys back them which made it even better.

Blaise at 6’1” 200 isn’t exactly short. Breece is 6’1” 215.

Crutch was a LOT bigger, somewhere around 235.

Hall looks like he's practically jogging on some of these runs...really deceiving speed.

Troy had a “spin move” that made it difficult to wrap him up. I think Darren had that as well. I doubt there has ever been two brothers that ran for more yards than these two did.

Hall reminds me of Marcus Allen, he used to glide while he ran and was deceptively fast.

I listened to a K-State after game podcast and they were complimentary to Hall's ability, but they made a comment that he wasn't that fast, funny!

Allen is probably the best comparison. Taller back with a smooth running motion, more subtle moves, runs through arm tackles. I don’t think Breece has a good comparison as an ISU back. Troy was like trying to tackle a bowling ball and didn’t have good top end speed.

I haven't seen as many of these guys as most of you have, but the only guy I've seen that has the deceptive speed like Breece is Vince Young. You'd see him go for the edge and think he's got no shot, and he'd get 8 yards. I'm not making the comparisons for the rest of his running style, but as far as deceptive speed, my comparison is Vince Young.

For those that aren’t aware of Joe Henderson, here is a YouTube highlight video. I do see some similarities between Breece’s and Joe’s running style. Joe seems to have speed when he needed it and moves when it was warranted. He wasn’t afraid of contact either. Those FB dives just floor me. He was between the 2nd and 3rd levels before the defense knew what hit them.
