For a family of 4 (kids 7 and 12) that isn't great with the outdoors (physical shape, allergies, etc), would there be enough to do between the two for a week trip this summer?

If so, where would be good places to stay in each?

Lots of go karts and mini golf in Branson a few yrs ago. Ride the Ducks on lake of the Ozarks.

If you are sure you want to do Branson area just go to Table Rock Lake instead. Not a huge fan of the area in general but Table Rock is a much nicer lake then the cigar boat infested bacteria pool that Lake of the Ozarks is.

Silver Dollar City would be on the list. Looks like there might be a bit more in Branson vs Ozarks.

My grandparents lived on Table Rock and I would spend two weeks down there every summer. Silver Dollar City was always a highlight. From what I hear it’s still as good.

I would 'second' Table Rock Lake vs. Lake of the Ozarks. A lot to do in Branson. Silver Dollar City will get you very tired for one day, lots to do and see, and the rides there are pretty top notch now. Music Shows are always fun (country western is prominent but there are other show genres also). Spend a day or two fishing (table rock, or Lake Taneycomo (trout).

If you come to Branson, definitely stop in Springfield to see the Bass Pro Shop and the adjoining Wonders of Wildlife and Aquarium. You won't be disappointed. Count on a full day there. And if it's hot, its' airconditioned!

Absolutely plenty to do. Table Rock is a fantastic lake, getting a pontoon from State Park Marina is a must IMO. Dolly Parton’s Stampede is a good dinner show. We have done a couple of good mini golf courses and zip lining. There is also a train excursion thing I want to do someday.

Been to Table Rock/Branson several times and Lake of the Ozarks once. I would say that Branson is more of a family friendly trip. Of course Silver Dollar City and there’s a water park called White Water if it’s still open. That was a ton of fun. Go cart tracks. We went in through Bass Pro Shop and that will put you into the River walk. A cool place with a lot of shops along the way and they do a fire show at certain times

I’m going down to Branson in a few weeks and I’m in charge of golf. I know there are awesome courses down there, but a few guys I’ll be playing with aren’t gonna pay $200*

Table Rock primarily known for boating & fishing. LOZ is boating, fishing, 200 restaurants in area with many on the water. Boating, tubing coving is the ideal family thing at LOZ. If your kids aren’t outdoor types, allergies etc. Silver Dollar City probably best choice. If they don’t like outdoors don’t go to Bass Pro. My experience with kids & gkids in 40 years at both lakes, if they don’t like water sports, boats or fishing….probably gonna be a long week.

Sitting at my timeshare in Osage Beach (Lake of the Ozarks) now. Unfortunately, it looks like a bomb went off in the property around this place. An outfit called Big Thunder plans to build a marina, hotel, water park, and casino on the surrounding land and all the oak trees have been cut down. The area has plenty of good golf, miniature golf, fishing, indoor water park at Tan Tar A, indoor activities at Miner Mike's (35000 sf). Hit the tourist shops in Lake Ozark. Tour the lake - privately built so many beautiful homes built on the bluffs.

Just got back from Table Rock. There is a Jack Nicklaus designed Par 3 course at Top of the Rock just south of Branson...VERY challenging

Lots to see & do both places.

Branson - we stayed at the Hilton Promenade at Branson landing. Easy walking to restaurants and shopping. Also a fountain display set to music that is entertaining. If we go back, we’d probably stay at Big Cedar Lodge or rent a place on Table Rock through VRBO.

Lake of the Ozarks. Yes, lots to see and do there. You can find things to do with kids. I’d recommend renting a condo instead of a hotel. Some resorts might be ok, though we stayed at Margaritaville last year and it’s showing its age. We won’t stay there again.

We like to VRBO at the Lands End condo complex when we are down there.
