Brandon Jensen back on team

Are you serious? How many 5th year seniors want to be 4th or 5th string at defensive tackle?

Cousin improved a ton and was going to overtake him and he is only a sophomore.

It's not a coincidence that this happened after Coe and Irving left. You'd have to be blind to not see that.

4th or 5th string? WHAT??!! Cousin improved a ton? How do you know that? Cousin hardly even played last year. Brandon arguably played more than any other DLineman. Maybe I'm blind then I guess..

And this year? He would've been behind Coe Irving and Cousin. Now two of those guys leave and he is suddenly back.

What in the blue hell are you talking about? The coaches have consistently said he had more ability than McDOnough and McDonough was on the cusp of the NFL. He wasn't behind Coe or Irving because they play a different position and Cousin never passed him last year. At worst, if Cousin does pass him, he's still playing 30 snaps a game.

He must have realized how much he was letting everyone on this message board down by making the selfish decision to move on with his life and not get his brains beaten in for one more year. Thank god he came to his senses, I think we can all forgive him now.

He doesn't even play the same position as Irving and Coe

The staff had a big plan to run both Coe and Irving at DT in passing situations with two pass rushing DEs. It would have definitely affected him. That won't work out anymore.

I think SighClone is probably right on as well if that is true.

He can play both...he just played NG because of Irving and Coe. He may slide back to 3-tech with ISU's lack of depth there.

Ah ok, I have limited defensive knowledge, and I just he always played NG.

How many 5th year returning starters at NG go to 4th or 5th string? None of them.

I guess agree to disagree. Playing time had to have had a big effect on his decision IMO. Not saying it was the only thing, but I really don't think it is a big coincidence.

Maybe he just saw that ISU was in a huge need and wanted to help. People can change their minds.

I was told when he left the team that a big part of the reason was that he and David Irving did not see eye to eye. Someone on the team told me that Brandon was tired of the way Irving was often disrespectful to the coaches, including Coach Bray. I have no idea if Irving's dismissal has anything to do with Brandon's return, but it very well could.

It's pretty clear Irving and Coe did not have football as a priority. Too bad because they are both athletic freaks. The team's better off without them.

I really didn't want to make a bunch of posts talking about Jensen not getting PT, I really figured it was pretty obvious.

The important thing is that he is back and he is going to help the team a ton. Adding him back makes me much more optimistic for next season.

This is what I heard as well. I heard it was a combo of Irving being disrespectful and Coe not holding himself responsible, but yet likely to see the field ahead of BJ.

Wonder if that was a reason some of our other DL like Kron left the team.

IMO, it is possible that Jensen and Cousin both start. One or both of them will play both nose and DT positions in the rotation.

This is huge news. Just happy that Jensen is back.

Finally some good news on the DT position. I wonder how long it will take to get him back to playing shape though. I bet a big guy like that loses muscle mass pretty fast when they are not lifting every day. Of course he may still be doing some lifting, who knows. Fortunately Fall is a long ways off.

Oh ya, and WTF did that come from? Him coming back is almost as mysterious as him leaving in the first place.

I'm going to say this sarcastically before some dumbarse says it seriously:

"Considering this is pretty much the same thing as if Devron Moore comes back, I hope CPR also makes him be a walk-on"

Again, sarcastically, but you know sooner or later some moron would say it.

this good be added to the "greatest moment in ISU sports history" thread. glad he is back!
