Just curious…..if ISU did the last #1 seed by beating Houston and having NC and Marquette lose, why couldn’t they be in Omaha?

I assume because Purdue will be the #1 seed in Midwest. We would get shipped to West.

I still think it is a moot point. We will not be a #1, even with a win tonight.

We are in omaha no matter what at this point.
I get that…..was just asking why being a #1 seed would keep ISU out of Omaha, as CyForce suggested. After all, being a #1 seed in Omaha doesn’t mean you are in the Midwest Region.

It's not what he is saying, he is saying that it is possible to though a slim chance to be a number 1. There have been multiple posts today of people that do not understand that for the last 20 years sub regionals are not tied to regional sites.

because whoever posted that doesn't know what the hell they're talking about - first/second round sites haven't been tied to regional sites for almost 20 years now, but people keep thinking they are.

ISU is in Omaha regardless of seed, regardless of which region they end up in, no matter what at this point

Agree, I don't understand why others are saying we can't. It's my understanding Omaha has a Thursday/Saturday pod and a Friday/Sunday pod so it shouldn't be an issue.

Though unlikely we can go to Omaha and still be a #1 seed.

What in the absolute misinformed **** are you talking about? First/second round sites haven't been tied to regions for almost 20 years now. ISU will be playing in Omaha no matter what seed they are, whichever region they are in. NOTHING can change that at this point.

I mean, you would think it would be UNC, AZ, and TN, but it's UNC, Marquette, and ISU still playing... :explode:
Definitely can't be Tennessee AND Arizona. Since they are both done, one of them has the edge over another. Coule be UNC, Tennessee and another. Thinking Tennessee could jump UNC if UNC gets another quad 2 loss
