Bracketology 2024

How is our fanbase so consistently ignorant to this? We can't be placed in a worse spot with a better seed. The only way that would've happened is if Kansas and Nebraska or someone else close to Omaha were both ahead of us on the seed line. It's not that complicated, but I still see people on Twitter saying we haven't clinched Omaha.

Which is mind blowing because the Pod system has been around for over 20 years at this point.

Can someone explain to me how 4-7 are ahead of us in the Net? We have the edge in almost every line.

I know its close, in a couple but overall looking at it how are we not on the 4 line at this point?

Yes it is. The committee guy was just on TV and said there are 3 teams alive for the final #1 seed???

Auburn #5 NET with a 1-7 record vs. Q1 is mindblowing to me.
Just showing up at the gym for a tough game is as important as winning it with some of these formulas. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

That's how the system is supposed to work. The NET measures how efficient your offense and defense are and wins and losses don't matter as much. The resume is what determines your seeding which values your wins and losses, and why Auburn is probably going to be a 4 seed rather than a 2 seed, which is what you would expect from their NET.

I wonder if A&M tearing it up all of sudden has made that loss suddenly look better. As a contributing factor, in all the stars (potentially aligning) scenario. I still think it's not happening, but fun if it IS us in that group of 3 being considered.

Let's skin some Cougars!

UNC, Tennessee and ????, I refuse to believe it's still Arizona so most here would say Marquette?
Doesn't seem possible Tennessee could climb after their performance in the SEC tourney. If one of yesterday's losers was in contention I'd say Arizona. After that it's obviously UNC, then us and Marquette. Makes me want to puke but Illinois can still improve their line.

Totally agree on everything.

I mean, you would think it would be UNC, AZ, and TN, but it's UNC, Marquette, and ISU still playing... :explode:
Winning one more in that Thanksgiving tourney would have gone along way in solving this problem, everything else being equal.

Maybe they will have a discussion that drawing DePaul as our Big East challenge opponent isn't really on us, or the fact that the Big 10 team we play every December was trash this year, and take mercy on our SOS...

Not losing to K-State last week would have likely had the same effect.
