Bracketology 2024

Why do I have this sinking feeling that our overall seed will say "Omaha", but the committee will somehow have to make an exception for some other team, and we'll get bumped?

I don't even know if that's something that would be allowed, but how often do those types of things go in our favor?

Because you have your nut cup on too tight - your "they're gonna find a way to screw us" is not how any of this works. You can't "bump" someone out of a regional site to make brackets work; they're assigned by who's closest to the site by availability. If ISU is one of the two highest ranking teams "closest to Omaha" by availability, we go to Omaha regardless of which region we play in - end of story.

The victimhood this fanbase projects on a regular basis is nauseating. I can barely look at ISU twitter because it's so embarrassing. Some of our fans whine more than Caitlin Clark.

The tournament can absolutely be on the road. Storrs to Boston 85 miles.
It’s not at UConn though, don’t be that person. I live in CT and Gampel Pavilion is way different than playing in Boston. It would be no different than us in Omaha. Yes the fan base would be bigger but it’s still not Hilton.

Wow ok have a nice day. Someone is a little sensitive. Someone challenged your opinion and you got all huffy. So sorry to hurt your feelings.

But yes you are wrong.
2000, I was is Detroit and every Cyclone fan there would agree that statement was asinine.

And get over yourself. I didn't say you were stupid. I'm just saying that statement was.

Good for you but it’s still not a true road game no matter how much our fan base wants to piss and moan about playing in team’s backyards. Is it a disadvantage? Sure it can be no question. But it isn’t actually a road game if it’s not in that team’s gym.

Our fan base is so whiny about getting hosed playing within 500 miles of a team. We don’t always win in KC despite having the biggest contingency outside of KU. Suck it up and win the game.

I call our whiny fanbase out as much as anyone but those are road games.

You literally called me a ******* tool…

Ok so if we get placed in Omaha we are automatically in the Sweet 16 right? Because we have arguably the best home court advantage in the country.

Some of us remember the Palace of Auburn Hills, which we know is not in East Lansing. This is coloring our thoughts here.
I am well aware of that infamous game. And it sucked. And it felt like a road game and all of that. Point is that game was not at the Breslin Center and we somehow played well enough to basically have that game won before melting down after that horrendous officiating. So it wasn’t a road game until we started losing? Got it.

Difference is Sparty in 2000 and UConn in 2024 were obvious one seeds and their fans devoured those tix as soon as they were available. We still don't know for certain. Why is this so tough for you to comprehend?

As someone who lives in the area, Auburn Hills is no more than 90 minutes away from Lansing (depending on traffic). It was absolutely a virtual road game.

Plus i'm sure there's no shortage of Michigan State fans living in the Detroit metro.

Its like if ISU had a tournament game in Wells Fargo Arena. Almost everyone would consider that a road game.
