Lunardi sucks at this...without question. But if I had a choice to take this bracket today as is or wait and see for the rest of the season? I would choose this bracket 100/100 times.

This is Lunardi except he'll go up close with the brand names/conferences and make sure they get the upper hand.

Good gig if you can get it though.

Regardless of the bracketing source, maintaining the 2 seed with Saint Louis --> Chicago is ISU's best-case, with 1 seed off the table.

If we slide behind Illinois and KU, Saint Louis isn't happening, and odds of being in East region increase.

F this guy! ISU as #3 seed and Florida and KU gets the #2 seeds?!?! Surprise, Fox (teamed up with B1G) has 5 B1G teams as 3 seeds or higher.

My bracket update after the weekend. Check out this link for the bracket and resume comparison tool.

  1. I have Purdue at 6, ISU at 7, Illinois at 8 -- if those teams were all competing for the same seed in a month, I do wonder if committee will look at head-to-head wins by ISU and Illinois at Purdue. I would assume so.
  2. To insure ISU gets St. Louis or Oklahoma City, wouldn't be a bad for us for Iowa to beat Nebraska tomorrow night.
  3. If we're a 2 or 3-seed, our most likely Sweet 16 matchup partner at this point is from this list -- Nebraska, Florida, Illinois, UConn, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Gonzaga.

UCONN 100%. But not sure the likelihood we are a 2 in their region.
Yeah, they could be a tough #1 seed, but it's hard to tell as their conference is awful with only 4 teams with a winning record and only 1 other conference team that is ranked. They're also 10 in the NET with St Johns 24 and Villanova 29 and then it drops down to Seton Hall at 50 and falls off a cliff after that.

Sign me up for this. Would be a pretty favorable path to the Elite 8

I think some version of this will be as close to ideal for what ISU could get.

Yes, U-M is on top half of bracket, but no team (including ISU) is guaranteed to be there on second weekend.

Obviously getting St. Louis to Chicago is best path regionally.

This type of draw avoids teams like Duke, Illinois, Florida and UConn prior to Final Four.

I doubt Gonzaga is a walkover, but it is not a "don't want to face that team" situation.

After matchups are announced, is there a good place to get tickets other than ticketmaster? I think they designate each team a side of the arena, right? Thanks

It's moot now, but if UConn were the last 1 seed and Iowa State is the best 2 seed, it's highly likely we would be matched up in the South region. If Michigan were the number 1 overall seed, it would be nearly impossible to put the #5; overall team with them and balance the brackets technically if it included the worst 3 seed and the worst 4 seed it would be allowed, so it's possible, but I doubt it happens.
