no way nebraska makes a bowl... :)

I actually think they have a shot. The big 10 west is pretty mediocre.

I can actually see Nebby winning 7 games this year. The west is not good and they actually catch a little relief as far as games against the east goes. People can laugh but 7 or 8 wins isn't out of the question.

Sign me up for any bowl playing a power 5 team in a somewhat desirable and warm city. Could not care less about the name, just tired of playing G5 teams in bowls.

Yeah, their schedule is pretty soft this year. They will be underdogs against Oklahoma, Michigan, Wisconsin and Iowa. But other than that, nobody else is too scary.

Northwestern
North Dakota
Georgia Southern
Indiana
Rutgers
Purdue
Illinois
Minnesota

It's not a stretch to see them winning 6 of those to get bowl eligible.

That said, it's no guarantee.

We're going to have two prime sit out candidates so glorious isn't assured.

I'd say one...McDonald. What I don't get about Nebraska is thinking that Casey Thompson is the answer.

understand... I think people over value nebby though to be honest.

They are 13-31 in the last 5 yrs in b10 play... they play the west every year. It is always pretty weak. I believe they have a losing record in games against purdue, minn, ind, nw, and ill in that time as well.

So, I think they lose the OU game + the last 4 (mich, min, ia, wis). That means they have to go 6-1 against the rest. Give them the other two non-conf games, that's 4-1 vs. teams they have not dominated for years. I think 2-3, or 3-2 is most likely but that is still 5-7 assuming they can finally get a winning record against the bad/mediocre teams. They could make a bowl by getting one more... we will see.

It would be fun to destroy them in a bowl game...

7 home games plus NW in Ireland. 6 wins is very doable.

I really like how our schedule breaks down this year. A lot of unknowns for sure, but feel like the season could start off on a really solid foot and then like the h/a breakdowns for the rest of the slate.

The only thing that really matters is the bowl payouts. The historical relevance and prestige of these bowls, has for the most part, been thrown out the window. Additionally, all of our bowls are against P5 schools, which makes for good matchups in my opinion.

The payouts

1. Sugar Bowl vs SEC. New Orleans 12/31 - CFP Revenue Share
2. Valero Alamo Bowl v Pac-12 San Antonio 12/29 - $8,252,740
3. Cheez-It Bowl vs ACC. Orlando 12/29 - $6,071,760
4. Mercari Texas Bowl vs SEC. Houston 12/28 - $6,400,000
5. AutoZone Liberty Bowl vs SEC Memphis 12/28 - $4,700,000
6. Guaranteed Rate Bowl v Big Ten Phoenix 12/27 - $1,625,000

Alamo is highest payout outside the NY6.

I wish about as much as one can we would have sent Nebraska out of the Big 12 with a two-game winning streak on our behalf. Resetting the last game to a "W" would feel great.

Same idea with Missouri -- would love to play them again to take back the Telephone Trophy forever.
